From Mr Nice:
It has a pedigree of parentage that combines a Brazilian Sativa with a South Indian hybrid. Basically, it is White Widow changing its colors like its company.
The Big Book of Buds by Ed Rosenthal lists the Brazilian Sativa and South Indian hybrid from Mr Nice Seeds.

The Cannabible 2 by Jason King lists Black Widow but as an "outdoor-grown California version and it is far superior to the indoor version. Not the same as sold by Mr Nice Seed Bank. Does any body know this strains lineage?"

I'd imagine the name has been used by different breeders who are growing different seeds. Maybe if you could trademark it, it would be good for tracking lineage. I guess someone should just ask the shops. I'm guessing it was the White Widow version.

Good call Boner - strong, stoney, amazing value. Thanks. They didn't have pretty buds like that last week though, much smaller and scruffier.

i bought both from kadinsky right off the dam square. the cali orange bud was good i bought 5 g of it and it was really cheap compared to other sativas and gave me a good high. it was my first bong bowl so it got me really high. the white widdow i bought i didnt like that much althou also not that pricy but i didnt like the high becouse it confused my navigation. the super silver haze from mellow yellow has a much better high without the constant loss of direction. hope i helped.
