There was just a thing on the tv(Australia) on a show called Getaway which is a travel and holiday show...it was a Europe special and they went to Amsterdam....they said a must do in A-dam is to take the FREE canal tour put on by Boom Chicago...just rock up and put your name down, i think they leave at 3:30.....It was a nice little boat, fitting about 8 to 10 people.
Oh yeah they said it's cool to bring munchies and drink and the only rule is to Stay On the Boat, so i assume it's cool to smoke.
Hope this is useful to someone.

Just for your information...

1) It isn't really free - they are a not-for-profit organisation - so __PLEASE__ do donate at least a little if you can afford it. The upkeep of the boats etc. etc. does cost them, and they rely on people's generosity to survive.

2) It IS NOT a Boom Chicago boat trip , it is St Nick's Boat Club canal thingy. You do sign up at Boom Chicago, but that is because one of the founders of Boom Chicago is the brother (I think) of one of the founders of the St Nick's boat club.

See http://www.amsterdamboatclub.com/ or call them on 065 080 5348.

Please don't take this as a negative/sniping/trolling post btw, just don't want other people to get too confused...

PS Yes, you can most definitely smoke on board, though I imagine bongs might be a pain to pack ;)
PPS I'm in Amsterdam in 2 and a bit days, and hope to finally make it to one of these St Nick's canal trips this year. Looks a lot better than the crappy big-boat, big corporation-run trips I've been on in the past.
PPPS I'm not affiliated with them in anyway, in case this post appears spammy :)
