We hit the ground, got the luggage and off to the train... Popped out of Centraal and the city was in action. Found the hotel, left bags with concierge, and headed to start the trip...
First stop (close to hotel) was Rokerij II, the 'Mako Haze' was alright, but one of our lower end selections--a little too dried out. From there, we hit Picasso which was a nice experience (great budtender chat complete with face plant story about the 'Haze') and had the 'Dream' which proved to be a very comfortable smoke and a fat bag. Spent the next few hours wandering around seeing the city waiting for the room to be ready.
Made it to the Grey Area and picked up 'Chocolope' and 'Grey Mist'. We wandered over to Nes Cafe to see if anyone was around. We asked for DC and he came down and met with us for a bit. DC--THANKS for being such a great host when we were around. The 'Chocolope' was great (especially the pure that DC rolled for us). The 'Grey Mist' turned out to lack the punch we expected (maybe we had way too many sativas, not sure but was not the advertised 'couch lock'). Spent the rest of the evening riding out the pure Chocolope and working off some of our purchases.
Saturday, we hit Homegrown Fantasy and picked up some 'Lemon Swazse'. GREAT morning smoke, a bit of a extremity tingle followed by the tendency to giggle. Set us up for walking down to the De Dampkring. That place had a great vibe (good music, fairly crowded with still places to sit and lots of people burning one down). Their cat seemed to be enjoying his life--we kept waiting to see him fall off his stool cause he was leaning pretty heavy at times. Got the 'Love Potion #5' and sat in the window and people watched. The potion was a VERY smooth flavor and had a bit of an emotional stone. Very nice.
After a nice walk through the shopping area, we managed to find the Noon. Fairly comfortable place where we had the Blueberry for 7.50E a gram. A fat bag was provided by the Rastaman and we sat and almost got couch locked until an American businessman in the shop started talking pictures (that was our queue to leave...the Dutch clientele there did not mind at all HAH!). After that, we had to nap for the Armin Only show (9 hours starting at 10pm).
The show was great but we were not faded for it somehow... That morning was more 'Lemon Swazse' then sleep. After waking, headed for Stix for the 'Nepal Temple Ball' and also picked up some of their 'Icelator'. I will have to say, icelator is the way. Very clean, tasty and perfect for capping off a bowl.
Headed to Nes Cafe since it was 4/20 and caught up with some of the crew. I think DC had already annihilated everyone with vapo-bags of 'Icelator'. We sat for a bit, was entertained by great stories and asked DC to roll us another pure. He obliged with the condition that he could put some special touches on it. We provided the 'Lemon Swazse' and 'Chocolope' and he topped it off with 'Icelator'. We got halfway through it and were WIRED. It was very intense--I wanted to go walk about and see the city sights so we bolted (well I bolted and friend tried to keep up!). Spent the rest of the night working through that!!! WOW. Drank a bit in a bar near hotel while taking in a bit of 'Grey Mist' and went to bed.
Monday we hit the Grey Area again and picked some 'Sour Diesel'. This was an incredibly comfortable smoke and good level for me. Spent the next few hours burning through the bag while exploring a bit more of the city. We polished off DC's madman pure and took in the museums. Great time was had and the Dutch masters do possess true talent.
That evening consisted of trying to finish all we had. Somewhere along the way, I had left/lost the Temple Ball bag somewhere. So when we came to count the bags so we knew nothing accidentally ended up in a suitcase, we had a bit of fun searching--we never found it but home safe now... That was fun customs line, but all is ok. Save yourself the stress and pay more attention than I did!
Tuesday, we left for Paris so smoked like madmen in the morning to empty everything. What we had left went to the nice barmaid near the hotel.
Crazy city, had a great time, met a few folks from here, DC is a force! I look forward to my next trip...
