I've stayed at the flying pig right opposite Blues Brothers, and the weed is rubbish.

the only people who I've met that were happy with bluesbrothers were some americans backpacking who were amazed that they could walk into a shop and buy weed, without having to go see some dodgy guy....lol

first timers should research

Post by Tweedle do »

All it takes is research. I went to Amsterdam for the first time 2 weeks ago and before going i extensively researched the best Coffeeshops and strains. So basically the net gave me the knowledge without having to go through it. I arrived armed with a list of the good places eg Barneys, Grey Area, Dampring, Katsu, Mellow Yellow etc. And i knew the places to avoid eg, Bulldog, La Cana etc.

I dont know what kind of weed your smoking in Manchester, but i used to smoke regularly in London and have experienced many types of weed. And what the best of the UK does to u in 1 joint, the best of Amsterdam can do in half a joint. Also very good weed in UK comes and goes, and you dont have such the varied selection.

Not to mention how liberating it is to smoke in public unchecked and un worried.

I think a part of what we interpret as "Strength" in smokes is down to state of mind..... I tend to smoke a whole lot more in Amsterdam, I surpirse myself at how much.... but if you think on it a moment you don't have any other worries while you're there...... there's no reason for you not to smoke.... that goes a long way to how you "handle" things.

I had half a joint at home yesterday afternoon and I felt a bit paniky because I had stuff to do (that paniky feeling is quite intense at times)..... that just doesn't happen in Holland.

What he said. Even if you can get better weed wherever you live, the beauty of the Dutch experience is being to able to fully relax and enjoy your surroundings without fear of persecution for making the choice to smoke.

Yep, one of my greatest first trip experiences was walking by four Dutch policemen with a load of smoke in my jacket and simply chuckling about their concern over the bicycle they were examining.

They could care less about what I had on me...

.

I beg to differ on the above quote..... I have been getting a good supply of Kali Mist, very nice Jack Herer, Blueberry K2, Blueberry, and some stuff with no name but stinks to high heaven recentley. And to be honest a lot of it is a lot stronger than `Dam weed. But on the other side of the coin.... there is some very good quality weed in Dam, i love the super silver haze and Trainwreck!! Just my opinion :D 8)

Have to say, it's not normal to get any type of quality where resin is concerned in the UK.

If you do you should consider yourself lucky.......

And Axeman..... I really need to get up your way and have a smoke..... you're only round the bloody corner.

Pssst.... do you think I hid my alterior motive there?

Its not a constant supply i may hasten to add, its either all or nothing round here. ive had my hands on my fair share of rubbish weed too. no fear of that.. Tonight im smoking that no-name smelly stuff, it turns up every 4-6 weeks, then its gone.

And dont get me wrong there is hash in the Netherlands which knocks socks off some/most green over here.

ur welcome to come up for a smoke drgonzo as long as we leave the football behind us.lol.
just scored some weed from a place called hattersley(moors murder place).
it blew our heads off and i was rendered unconcious after 2 singles.now thats what i call weed.it didnt have a fancy name if it had 1 at all,but it worked better than owt in dam.
i note the gent that said it was a pleasure to walk round with a spliff without worry of gettin nicked.its only your own paranioa that stops you doin this in the uk m8 as we do it all the time.before the smokin ban i took pride in having a spliff in every pub i visited.the police have nicked me that many times theyve now give up! lol
nice dreams folks.x

I agree with this post 100%.
I just got back and i ended up on the resins and spackcakes for the knockout blow as 75% of all of the weeds i bought just "werent that special". Its as simply as that.
Before you start mocking me, let me explain.
Ive been to Amsterdam atleast once a year since i left school. Im 30 now.
I Know where to go to get nice gear or where to go to get ripped off.
Im a connoisseur ffs lol.
Dampkring and Barneys and Grey areas menu is awesome. The taste of some of this stuff is unbelevable but the green that we get (fair enough its not regular as clock work) will take the pepsi challenge with Amsterdams Finest for sheer KNOCKOUT value. UK wouldnt win as Dams tastes miles better.
So its like this.
Amsterdams Buds = Well Cured, Look fantastic, The taste is unreal but the buzz is more of a head buzz i find. Smell depends on stain.
UK Buds = Sometimes not even cured but mainly cured well but not to the degree of Amsterdam, Sometimes grit, Smell absolutley reeks of weed, a joints worth inside a tin stinks the pub out, buzz "knockout".

So what i think the lad is trying to say and so am i
I need to smoke less in Uk to get stoned than i do in Amsterdam.

Im not knocking the place at all or their weeds, i love the place.
