I didnt think the service was that bad when i went in there, but it was missing that special something like you said. Dont know whether it was the lack of Mothers Finest or the fact the staff just werent as chatty or interested as they used to be. Scottish girl werent there either!!!
As stated I was there last week, and went there last Saturday (3rd of May), and got some John Sinclair.
I went back on Friday (9th of May), and it was closed, but with a shuttle bus to and from Dampkring.
In my opinion, when Dampkring took over Pink Floyd, they changed it for the worse- Dampkring has some fine weed, but Pink Floyd had a certain atmosphere that was taken away.
I think it's only a matter of time before the few last remaining vestiges, such as Umma Gumma on the menu, also disappear.
I didnt visit the original Pink Floyd, but I have to say I dont understand your bad reviews. Maybe you should go there without those thoughts once. Everytime we went there the dealer was very friendly, talked with us about the stuff he was selling, giving us advices about different things we asked him and so on and so on. the woman on the bar was very friendly as well....never had a bad experience there, always a very nice atmosphere. but well....tastes are different

You can't really compare the 2 if you didn't ever visit before Dampkring took over can you?

Bollocks! I'm there until the 2nd June and I love Pink Floyd. Thats put the sand in my vaseline
Dont be too sad as Dampkring ruined the atmosphere of the old Pink Floyd near enough as soon as they took over anyway.
Have they really? Now that is a shame.
Was there this time last year and the only thing that had changed other than the branding was the menu. Was like a semi, haze heavy, Dampkring menu. Same people working, simular crowd smoking. Missed their Dirty Jack though - Id still rate that as the strongest weed I've ever smoked. However looking at FBN site I've noticed Umma Gumma on the Dampkring menu so maybe all is not lost.

That Dirty Jack was amazing (was told it was 100% organic/grown in soil hence the name), I did hear the Umma Gumma hash isn't the same as the original, try the Golden Soles at Grey Area for something similar imo.

I didnt mean to compare the 2, just wanted to say that everyone should try to go there with a good feeling and not thoughts like "omg, this is dampkring now..." because in !!!MY!!!! opinion the Dampkring staff are very nice people.

I never had a chance to check out Pink Floyd -- and with what I now know to much regret -- but I did check out the "new" place back in December '07. It was nice to go into a Dampkring that wasn't crowded with people. And the budtender was very nice and steered me to the best weed of the trip -- a Mako Haze. Small buds, but very potent.

Seeing as I'll be on holiday I may just push the boat out and try them both

I read they are doing a little shuttle service to take people to the Dampkring on Handboogstraat which would make me think that they aren't selling at the moment.

Pink Floyd is completely shut till June 5th, and yes, the are doing a shuttle service to Dampkring- not even counter service.
It all happened last week- I went on Saturday 3rd, and they were open, albeit with just a counter service for weed, and when I returned on Friday 9th, they were shut with a sign informing of the shuttle service.
after seeing how much most of the staff at a coffeeshop smokes throughout the day WHILE WORKING, I would not get into a vehicle operated by one of their employees...
