High all, just a quick report on my return to the dam for the first time in 10 years.
Me and my baby brother (ahh, bless him) for his 21st birthday decided to have a good smoke for his day and theres no better place if you have never been. We consider ourselfs heavyweight smokers (19 years at it myself), the usual weapon of choice being being a 3 litre lung, so were looking forward to the quality and choice of weed on offer.
We stayed at the camping vligenbos place, and hired one of the cabins. No smoking in the cabin ( no mention of that on their website!) was my only major complaint. As mentioned on a previous post by another poster, the owner/manager is an arrogant twat, but the other two female desk staff were very polite and helpful and one spoke very, very good english.
Now the important stuff.
The Doors. Sour diesel 1.4g for €13 - Nice strong smoke
Amnesia haze 1.6g for €20 - nice strong smoke
The bud-tender was not the most welcoming, but gave us no attitude either, probably the english thing again.Music not too loud, ok tunes.
420 Cafe. Neville's Haze 1g for €8 - Ok smoke.
Very friendly bud-tender, cool atmos, just a shame about the weed. This stuff made me whitey (passout) once when a friend bought it back to the uk (
)
Grey area. Gery mist 1g for €8.50 - Avoid, absoulute shite.
Grey crystal 1g for €18 - Worth every cent - The nuts!
Big buddha cheese 1g for €13.50 - Best weed of the trip!
No probs with the budtender other than he recommended the gery mist when i asked him specifically for something very strong. No seat, which I am lead to believe is the norm in there.
T' Ooievaartje Bubble gum - 1g for €7.50 - worth the money. Nice.
Jack Herrer - 1g for €7.50 - ok for the money.
Black widow haze - 1g for €13 - Very nice haze
Nice local cafe in the north district, 10 mins away from the campsite. Cool bud-tender, very friendly. Had pool table there too, but never played. Wish I had spent some time there, just for the whole local thing as opposed to the tourist bit.
Home grown fantasy Power plant - 1g for €??? - Nothing too special
Didn't stop there, just scored and doored. Bud-tender was fine, looked a good place to stop.
Amnesia Cherry Bomb 1g for €9 - Good smoke for money.
Sweet tooth 1g for €10 - As above good smoke for €€€
Top Dawg 1g for €12.50 - Nice but expected more.
Very nice bud - tender, great tunes at a nice sociable level. A top place to smoke what you score at the grey area. Very nice hot choclate too, mmmm.
Old Church Ready rolled white widow joint €4. Absolute garbage, whould have been better to smoke a lambert and butler from my own packet, proberbly had the same amount of weed in it!
Iso-lator (or however its spelt?!?) 1g for €28.
Will report on that one when I smoke it later( haha bloody french customs may have searched the car proper, but they didn't find that!). Just hope its good, as the WW joint was shocking.
Bud-tender was ok, but no as good as other some of the others. Cool atmos, just didn't enjoy it as the joint was crap!
Overall I found the only thing that has changed over there was the street dealers were a lot more in your face. We had one shouting "coke!" at us when we were over 10 meters away from him. These other two crackheads were just too much, "hey you, addidas, you want rock?", whilst his mate was going "rocrocrocrocrocrocrock". Made me laugh at the time, but I am sure others could find that intimidating. The other street dealers we encounted were just your standard "charlie?" types.
There seamed to be a lot of attitude from some of the younger crowd (you know, the ones that all try and dress like Dizzie Rascal), but i was too smashed to care most of the time, lol. I cant wait to get back over there. As soon as I hace gathered enough funds for petrol, digs, etc then I am off.
