Amsterdam THC Treasure Hunt

Yesterday I was sitting on my favorite Amsterdam park bench having that last smoke before heading out to Schiphol for my return home after 10 fun days in Mokum. I was thinking about what I was going to do with my 6 leftover baggies. Each of my previous trips I had taken them to Schiphol along with my pipe and papers hoping to give them to some stoners just as they arrived as a welcoming gift. Of the six previous trys I had only been succesful one time and the other five the bags got dumped into a Schiphol waste can.

So I decided to leave them right there as a thc treasure hunt for all you luckies in Amsterdam or those arriving real soon. I had already taken pictures from there as I always got high leaving and arriving to my hotel each morning and night. I found a Burger King drink cup that I washed out and stashed the stash. I hid it behind a green shrubery behind the park bench. It's semi visible as you walk passed the bench.

See http://www.flickr.com/photos/90661746@N00/ ...for 5 photos of the bench and the neighborhood . There's some clueful photo descriptions to help you on your way.

Here's the contents of the cup: (all are 1 gram or less)
Stella something from Grey Area.
Golden Soles hash from Grey Area.
Mendo Madness from Amnesia.
Neville's Haze from De Kuil 420.
White Widow from Picasso.
Thai from Picasso.

Just a sidenote on the Thai. I had to try it for memory's sake. It was only EUR 3/gram so I didn't expect much. It was fairly dry, compacted buds.
I would call it commercial in quality. I wouldn't buy it again in Amsterdam although I'd welcome it here in California in a dry spell pinch. I carefully separated the buds so that the extra dry outer leaves were thrown away and I smoked just the more golden color innards and I will say that I got that old peppery Thai taste that I remember from the '70's. The strong killer high wasn't there though. In Amsterdam it's probably not worth the Euros. I questioned the Amnesia dealer about Thai and he said it's available occasionaly in the high grade quality and EUR 10 and up price range. You've just got to keep asking for it he said.

So good luck in finding my stash- I'd appreciate a note here from the lucky hunter.

Here's another obscure clue: I wouldn't be surprised if dannymac has sat on this same park bench- maybe even taken a whitie off the end.

Hey Valo- so stoned I posted it twice.

From a post from Oxymoron over at channels.nl where I also posted the treasure hunt:
THANKS LARRY

we found it ;> i recognized the He of Heineken on one of the pictures, simple 5min walk from my house near the leidseplein.. great stuff guy, smoking it now

my reply:
Oxy- allright, glad you found it. I tried to frame the night photo with the H of Heineken so it looked like it might be an Ho of a hotel sign and to further the misdirection I described the photo using the word Hotel, not clever enough to fool a local? though.

For other thc hunters of you this park is the park between the tram stop and Den Texstraat used as a shortcut to the Kap and Asterisk Hotels, the round pancake restaurant is on it's westside. The Heineken Experience (Brewery) is just across the Singlegracht (canal). The red H in the photo is on top of Heineken International on the park/ hotels side of the canal. This is the intersection of Vizelgracht and Weteringschans also known as Weteringcircuit which is all torn up with the construction of a station for the new North South tramline.

Hey Oxymoron, I see you registered to reply, welcome aboard with your free registration smokes. I'm sure you realize we can always use local resident's experiences and opinions here.

Hey I'm glad I did this treasure hunt, I think I'll do it again next trip but I've gonna figure a way to make it harder with progresively easier clues given.

Very Cool! I have always simply abandoned any remaining purchases at a table of the last place I visited. I doubt they went to waste. :D

Larry you should be applauded for your creativity and generosity!
