Just got here from Seattle

Post by SteveSarich »

Hi All,

I'm Steve Sarich and I'm a medical marijuana activist from Seattle. I just got in today and I'd love to meet up with any other activists, growers...or just good people to hang around with while I'm here. I'll be here through next Wednesday.

I'm also trying to find a doctor who will write me a prescription for cannabis while I'm here. I brought all of my medical records, including my two current US recommendations. Any ideas?

Best....

You should PM Milehigh.... that's his job description.

You can find his website at :- http://www.thebigtrip.us

He'll know the circuit best.... if Nol is over from Spain he'd be a great contact too.

I tried to register for Milehigh's site and it said that my email address was already in us and it won't let me on! HELP! Is this site connected to that one? Could that why it would show my email already being used?

Any help would be appreciated.

Check out Cannabis College in Amsterdam for info on medical marijuana: http://www.cannabiscollege.com/

Can I ask why you want to go to a Dutch doctor for a marijuana prescription when you can go to hundreds of coffeeshops and buy without going to a doctor. The last time I heard the quality of medical marijuana in the Netherlands was of very low quality.

It's not the quality of the cannabis. I have a medical marijuana "recommendation" in Washington State. I have numerous qualifying conditions and they have been documented by several doctors. But they are not allowed by federal law to give patients a prescription. If they don't have a prescription, the feds can charge the and they have no protection under state law.

At least in theory, that law enforcement should be leaving you alone (of course they're not, but we plan to stop that). The Feds don't cut you any slack and they're also violating the sovereignty of the the medical marijuana states and they're bribing state drug enforcement task forces with Federal grant money so they can build these great, all black clad, paramilitary forces.

Fortunately 68% of that Federal money was cut in the 2008 budget. A wise financial move by, oddly enough, the Bush Administration. I have no idea what came over him.

The reason I want it has to do with protection from the Feds. After I get this worked out with actually getting a prescription...I'll be happy to tell you the rest of story...and I think you'll really like it. It helps that I have to review a lot of archaic laws as part of my job in providing legal assistance to patients. This is one of those laws. It's already been tested. I hate to let the rabbit out of the bag too soon and ruin it for everyone.

Best...

Im not sure an American without a resident permit is allowed to get a medical prescription for marijuana in the Netherlands. Please let us know how your quest goes.

There seems to be very little information available on this. Tomorrow I'll start my hunt for a doctor in earnest. I've just been enjoying the gorgeous weather and I've already met some great people here. The only negative experience, thus far (besides the blisters from walking so much) was my brief stop at the Paradise coffee shop. What a bunch of jerks! We also bought some very moldy pot from another shop and they were pissy about replacing it...but reluctantly gave in. (The Bulldog next to The Doors)

Kudos to the guys who do the Free Amsterdam newspaper. First rate production and full of extremely informative information for visitors.
