Bob's Youth Hostel used to be cheap n' cheerful, don't know what the 'clean' is like anymore, CS in the basement. Haven't stayed there for a few years now....I'm a bit to old to be a youth anymore
Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal 92, 1012SG. Some reviews here; http://www.hostelworld.com/hosteldetail ... 2/reviews/

^Seconded^. Cheap and very entertaining. Also Hotel Winston is pretty good, private rooms and dorms like this available...

yea im thinking about the flying pig. as long as the place is smoker friendly. stayed at the sheraton schipol last summer and although a great room and cheap when i used my starwood points, was a pain not being able to smoke there.
