I talked to Conscious Dreams (the smartshop, Kokopelli branch, near the train station) too, by telephone from the UK, maybe a few weeks ago (I can't recall exactly when). I asked whether the ban would take effect by September, the proposed date of my next "trip" (mind the pun). The helpful person who answered the telephone said it was uncertain whether the ban would be in effect by September. So the information that I gathered from Conscious Dreams differed from the information given to you. But a December review indeed sounds plausible. I'll contact Conscious Dreams again in order to ask about this review. A December review would be well timed after my September trip.Themindwanders wrote:I didn't - it's just what the guy from conscious dreams told me just last week.
By the way, I have resolved to be as safe as possible when taking mushrooms in the Netherlands (in moderation, with no other drugs, in a safe environment, etc.). I was very safe in my last trip too.

In the local Dutch newspapers last week there was a story that the Dutch government goes on holiday this week and won't return to meet until September. So the earliest a vote on banning mushrooms would be in the Fall. Smart shop owners & mushroom growers have stated if a ban is passed they will take it to court and that would delay the ban even longer.

I do not live in the Netherlands, but I asked Conscious Dreams your question, and they said Peyote would still be legal but very expensive. I bought one button by mail order, not knowing that you need at least seven, for fifty euros each. Also, it is not easy to prepare.heywella wrote:banned or not what do you guys ( especially those who live there) think will happen with peyote?
will that (if shrooms are banned at some time) be the new thing that smartshops will try to push?
