I think it real terms I'll be smoking a little less this year than last year!. Well in fact as I can do the beer back home and have NO intention of drinking a good 10 €5-6 beers (thats about £3.50-£4.20) a night. So in real terms I'll probably smoke the same but save money in not getting what by any countries standards is very expensive beers in a bar.
I mean the price of beer in Amsterdam has got well out of hand now I feel so I'll probably either not bother at all with beer this year or hunt down either the "happy hour" bars or genuine reasonable priced bars.

I would have agreed with you last year for sure, but since I have lived in Dublin for the last 6 months then I would welcome a €4 or €4.50 pint as they are extremely hard to come by here I have found. So hopefully I will be used to the prices this time around....haha.
Not entirely sure of the prices in Amsterdam since my last trip was over the new year but Excalibur was still €4 a pint which is my favourite hang out for drink.
Last Nov., after flight/room, I went through $1200. us - in a week.
But ate well, & had a hell of a time!
Be back this Nov. to do it all again.

i spend the whole day in dam visiting coffeeshops and of course have to buy at least one drink in each shop, 20-25e a day
50-70e a day on weed
30e a day or so for food
=120e+ a day, not including accomodation/travel or the temptation to spend far more than is necessary on dope!
What I'll likely do is get 4 or 6 cans of beer to take back to the hotel in the evening for when I'm getting ready for the evening out. That way if there is nothing that I think of as reasonable beer prices €4 or under at least I'll already have had a reasonable amount of cans of beer.
Bloody hell, why did Hill Street Blues have to choose the cannabis over the alcohol???!?!?!?!!!!! lol. Just that HSB was a very cheap place (€1.80 a bottle for the local beer) for a few beers to start the night off!.
Still, love my coffee with a joint so no real problem as such.
Dave get yourself to the Nes cafe the beer there isn't overly expensive and you can smoke there as well, another option is the night bar (opens at 7/8ish) thats next to De Kuil/420 they allow smoking in there as well.
im alone n a amsterdam and hash only toker but now that im movin there wit ma pops somewere in the centrum he knos the dtails. but ima go allllll out ya dig. paece. an i guess i spent more then that cuz i smoked alot of ice hash an thats expencive
