where can i buy a protopipe

Post by salty seadog »

I am looking at buying an original protopipe but they are nearly £30 in the uk. Does anyone know of anywhere that definitely sells them at a reasonable price in the dam, as i will be there next week...ish...

cheers...ssd

So did you get one?

I'm also looking to buy one, but I was wondering if anyone had anything to say, good or bad, on whether I should or not.

I've read some things saying that the brass alloy that they use has lead in it and that this is bad for you as you don't want lead vapour in your lungs, obviously. I'm a bit skeptical, as surely the temperatures needed to vapourise lead are higher than those you get from a lighter?

I've also read that they get too hot to hold while you're smoking them. I've used one in the past, but don't remember that being a problem. That might say more about my state of mind while I was using them, mind...

Any info gratefully received. Cheers.

You can get them here Old Indian Headshop 2 diff versions ranging from 34.5e to 47.5e, the later being the original one. Click Special pipes & Parts.
