6 Entrances of Vondelpark closed

The six entrances to the west side of Vondelpark in Amsterdam have been closed off in order for large scale renovations in the park to take place. The closing of the entrances caused much protest in the area. On Sunday, residents formed a human chain by the entrances. They were angry that city council Oud Zuid were planning to close all the entrances at the same time. The doors will be closed until October.
