I think apart from Harrlem and noting down some new coffeeshops to do and those to avoid. The only planning I'll probably do is to make sure I have some a4 sized maps printed out with what is where in any given area I'm in when I'm a little unsure what to do next!.

Granted they will be mainly coffeeshop maps lol. But the "ahh, always wanted to goto that coffeeshop and not to far a walk to get there" comes into play. Or the "that park is only 5 mins away, could have a joint walking round there" etc.

At least with a4 map print outs, less obvious your a tourist over those bloody giant maps. Besides I tend to stick to studying my maps in the hotel or coffeeshops when I can help it.

I would recommend the Knopf MapGuide, the maps fold out of the sections, and it is quite compact.

Well apart from whats already been said just check-out the coffeeshop reviews section on which coffeeshops to avoid these days. As it seems well rated coffeeshops of the past just dont make the grade any longer!.
