First of all, I didn't take any notes whatsoever and have been so busy since i got back! Its took me over a week to sit down and write this so please bear with me and forgive any innaccuracies and/or memory malfunctions!
I arrived in the Dam midday on the 26th and headed straight for Rookies Uptown hotel where i was staying once again. Both Rob and John there are really nice guys and always pleased to see me and friendly. The rooms are always clean, they allow smoking and they have a lovely terrace - what more do you want from a Dam hotel?
For my first smoke i wandered down the road to Rokeriij (sp) and had some white shark and some white melon. Both were nice and tasty and as first smokes for someone who doesn't smoke back home, they suitably mashed me! I had a meet and greet planned for Rookies at 2.20pm so a quick dash to Mellow Yellow where i just picked up some Bubblegum Haze and some Orange Haze. I found out later that as per usual MY's high standards remain - both were excellent smokes(i'd tried both a number of times before so i expected that) - i'd say the Orange Haze just shaded it!
Then off to Rookies for the meet. I bought the Sage and the Laughing Buddha - both were good but both were way outshined by the weed from MY! Unfortunately, other than me only Dr Tak from Channels turned up for the meet, so we had a fat smoke together for a few hours and then went our seperate ways. I know Boner fell asleep cause he pm'd me but not sure if any of the others were there and we didn't recognise each other or not?
That night I found a pub in which to watch one of the Playoff finals and then had a final giant spliff back in my room before dosing off.
The following day i woke up at 3pm! That first day in Amsterdam really does take its toll for those of us who don't smoke back home!! I spent the day hash-collecting. I spent some time in Stix, where i bought my all-time favourite Temple Balls - still amazing! I also picked up some Indian Cream from Bluebird, which was awesome, although Bluebird have stopped selling K-Drink, which was a shame. Also got some Blue cheese from there, which was highly recomende by Dr Tak - not bad but again the Orange Haze stood out more! Then i got some rather disappointing Maroc Gold from i think Andalucia lounge, but by that point i was gone!
The 28th brought with it a visit to Nes, but as i was leaving i remember thinking i'm sure i've forgotten something - it wasn't till much later in the day, sat in Rastababy, that i remembered - i'd meant to try some Gulpener, recommended by guys on VirtualDam - next time i will (i'm back over there on 26th June). It was a nice day so after a trip to Grey Area to pick up some Chocolope and Grey Berry, I sat outside Ricks Coffeeshop and smoked it all up - the chocolope was excellent. Despite all of my many previous visits to amsterdam this was only my 3rd time in Grey Area and only my 2nd trying chocolope - suffice to say i am now a convert!
My flight back on the 29th wasn't till late evening so I spent the day smoking away - Greenhouse Centrum were sold out of Strawberry Haze so i tried Lemon something, which wasn't too bad.
RE - Smoking Ban - I asked quite a few budtenders about this and they all seemed to share a similar opinion - "only tobacco is to be banned but how the hell are we gonna enforce this? - go round checking everyones reefers - i don't think so!" - most agreed that they'd just carry on as normal and see what the police/authorities do about it. Most seem to think nothing will happen and it'll just go on as normal - one guy said that they'd ban only cigarettes, not spliffs with tobacco in - still seems a bit up in the air to me!
I'm sure i tried loads more stuff and visited loads more places but with my memory and no notes, this is the best i could do - hope its helpful to someone?
