Christmas in Amsterdam
Looking to spend Christmas in Amsterdam. Divorced this year and feel like Amsterdam is where I should spend Christmas. Does anyone know of any good hotels or apartments that you could recommend? I have stayed in several locations but do enjoy the De pijp area...( really all areas) Anyone else want to have a Christmas blowout in Amsterdam from 19 Dec to 29 Dec?

Sounds like a merry Xmas. The only hotel that comes to mind in De Pijp is The Bicycle Hotel. I think this place might be pretty cool, never stayed there though. Have fun. I wanted to head out for early December, but it's getting too damn pricey for me.

Maybe extend a few days and do New Years too.
Enjoy

Yeah, it's pretty easy. They will give you instructions based upon your arrival time. I stayed there last trip, they gave me an hour window from when I arrived to meet the host at the apartment. We were about 5-10 minutes late, but she seemed cool about it. I would let them know if you think you might be later. I've heard some of the hosts require you to call them when you arrive in town to arrange the meet. All this depends on the host. You will pay them the remainder of the cash on arrival. Way better deal than a hotel in the same price range. It's much more relaxing in your own apartment and you might save money by cooking your own meals.freewheelin frank wrote:thanks all...ash333 hope to see you! citymundo has been very helpful and displays the cheapest rentals...I am unsure how the key pick-up transpires, any hints or suggestions?
