Yeah, I know Utrecht well. Theres a listing of coffeeshops in Utrecht on the main page, all well reviewed. Do you know what area your staying in? If you can get to it go to t'grasje for the selection, its nice! Do check out the listings on here (If you dont know your way around its a good idea to prit off some multimaps as theres a lot of good coffeeshops that are hidden away about 10 mins from the centre).

Anything else feel free to ask.

Wietstock is mediocre, you can do better. Theres half a dozen coffeeshops all round that area if you fancied a crawl!

looks like hotten is just outside Utrecht, so If you get a train or bus to the centre a lot of the shops are easy walking distance, do check a map though as the coffeeshops are quite discreet, apart from Andersoms which is a rip off.

Why do you say that Andersoms is a rip off? When I travel to Utrecht, about every other month for a weekend, I spend a fair amount of time in Andersom. I really like the shop and their "dungeon".
The Culture Boat is a nice chilled spot to get high, as well. If I'm not mistaken 't Grasje opens later in the afternoon. Peace.

ive been in there a dozen times since about 2003, and only ONCE did the staff look in the remotest bit happy. every one else scowled at me (and everyone else in there). There were only 3 types of weed last time, 2 of which were the same with different names, and they were all poor in comparison with better coffeeshops in the area. The basement is nice I agree but the staff have a serious attitude problem.

Dont agree with that, the Budsies I had from there was one of the best smokes I've had in Holland.

I agree with Boner on the Budsies. This was a terrific smoke. It was available at Wietstok and their sister shop, Andersom. Personally, I really like Andersom. I dont get scowled at (not that it would bother me)and the staff are pleasant enough, I have found. If you dont care for their selection of herb, bring some along that you do like and smoke it. I usually will buy 1 gram of whatever looks decent and then smoke the better weed that I brought. Bummer about your unpleasant experiences there, aaron. Peace.

will they let you smoke your own weed in there? I havent been in a year or so now but it happened on many occasions. which has really put me off.

In my opinion nothing comes close to Sarasani though so im a bit bitter :(

I know what you mean, bro. I really loved Sarasani as well but they screwed themselves by getting greedy. Having the quantity of weed that they did, when they got busted, they were just asking to be closed down.

Yes, you can smoke herb you brought with you but, as you probably already know, you must buy at least a gram of herb at Andersom's counter before you can get buzzed thru the door leading to the basement.
You can also bring your own herb to smoke at The Culture Boat, which I find to be an awesomely chilled shop. Happy tokin'!
