Day One
We landed at Schipol at around 9:30AM local time. We met up with 3 other travellers flying from another airport. We got our tickets and headed down to the platform for the train to Central Station. At this point in time it is around 10:30AM and we are off to our first choice of coffeeshop, The Highway, for some of the much loved Crystal Bomb from a previous trip. We enter the coffeeshop, and it appears nothing has changed…except the menu. It is now no longer on a board hanging on the wall, but a plastic coated black and yellow card. As soon as I saw this I knew Crystal Bomb was long gone. However, I did decide upon the White Widow. A standard strain, but grown and cured really well, a bargain! Midway through smoking that however, I caught a whiff of my friends LA Confidential joint. I knew instantly that I wanted some, so I went and got a bag. It was quite pricey, but the quality was outstanding. I hope its still there in November!

From here, we decide to head to Styx. However, stoned, we ended up at BlueBird. It was supposed to be the 3rd shop, but it became the 2nd. We walked up the stairs and I again noticed a menu change. No longer the big book, just a plastic card. Still, I decide to get some BlueCheese and started to roll up. Both the flavour and effects where outstanding from this purchase. They always appear to have nice green. As a few of the group had cases, we were told we had to sit in a certain area, the comfy sofa. Happy days! I was then told off for taking a picture of the menu, but I managed to keep it after pretending to delete it. Ha ha!

We then took a stoned walk in the direction of Het Ballonnetje to find the hotel. Only knowing the name and that it were near Het Ballonnetje we walked about aimlessly hoping to stumble upon it. After about 45 minutes walking around, we saw the sign for it. We were told the room wasn’t quite ready but we could leave our bags. We then rolled a J and headed towards Dampkring.

When we got to Dampkring, it was busy. Too busy to accommodate another 6 smokers. So we just buy and leave. I decided upon the NYC Diesel from a friend’s recommendation. This definitely had the smell and the taste was the smell too. A damn good choice at a relatively cheap price.

The next coffeeshop is usually my favourite in Amsterdam each trip. However, changes, changes, changes. Firstly, everything comes in greaseproof bags, much like Dutch Flowers. I have always preferred plastic sealy bags. I moan in England when you get it in the cellophane part of a cigarette packet, or a Tesco’s carrier bag. Secondly I was told I could only purchase singles of White Dolphin, not a big bag. Again, something that is standard in England, not Amsterdam. However, the White Dolphin was lovely, even though I didn’t purchase it myself. It still isn’t up to thee standard it was in 2004. The Royal Dolphin was amazing too. Easy to put in a J, compared to previous visits. I also go some Zina, which on a previous visit to Dampkring had me sneezing for about half an hour. No sneezing this time but a really nice hash. The hash at Dolphins is cut very thinly, so it is easier to manipulate than just a block.

Very stoned, we all wander off into the direction of the Noon. Finding it relatively easily we go in and make some purchases. The Blueberry wasn’t as tasty as a previous visit, but at the price it’s a bargain. The Blueberry Haze on the other hand was outstanding. An amazing taste and very strong stoned. As the shop is small and there were already a person or so at each table we decide upon venturing to Mellow Yellow.

I had not been there before, but knew what it looked like. This made it very easy to see it from across the street. Like the Noon, a bit of a small shop, but more tables. I purchased the Honey Hash only as they had no Master Mellow. I saved this for another day where I put the gram in a king skin and smoked it to myself one morning. An amazing hash, possibly the best tasting I have had. Midway through smoking, two people came in and started playing the table football really loudly. The thing was moving all over the shop. We then decided to leave in search of the next shop.

Het Ballonnetje is definitely a local type shop, but still accommodates tourists. After hearing about the 137 tonnes of Afghan hash being destroyed, I decided to get some, in case it disappears or prices increase. For the price of 4 Euros, it was great. Not amazingly strong, but a classic dark hash taste. After some smoking in here till about 5-6PM we decide to go to the hotel…

We thought we would have a quick power nap before going out and getting higher. I set an alarm on my phone and nod off. I didn’t realize that my phone had but a few percent of battery left. Phone died, alarm didn’t go off, and I wake up at about 2AM! I think I should point out that I had no sleep on the Thursday night, so I had been awake from about 10AM Thursday morning. So I had done a whole day of smoking before I even got to the first shop! I gather my thoughts while smoking a Blueberry haze joint I had rolled from earlier. I decided to wake the group to see what they were feeling. Being located away from the main part of Amsterdam and t now being around 3AM we decide not to go into town, but a random walk the other direction with a few pre rolled joints.

Whilst on this random walk we saw some interestingly shape buildings and dinosaurs! Check the pictures! After walking around for about an hour we head back to the hotel and find a small park. We have another joint there and go back to sleep for a few hours before getting up early for breakfast and more smoke.

Saturday, Day 2
Woke up relatively early and went down for the free breakfast. Then we took a wander down to a small park down the road. I sparked up the Honey Hash which I put in a single king skin and smoked away. Really honey like taste, which I think compliments the hash taste perfectly. Definitely getting more next time I visit.

The first coffeeshop that we visited that day was Styx. I asked for some Temple Ball, not specifying an amount, 1.8g comes up on the scales. Well worth 20 Euros. I like the way that they present the hash there too. It is definitely my favourite hash. The way it hits me is like nothing else, especially when its high grade Temple Ball. We sat in here having a good old smoke whilst planning the day. There was a man sitting to our side that we had quite an interesting conversation with about coffeeshops. He could have been an owner or something, too high to actually remember anything of the conversation.

Heading off to Grey Area was the idea, but I saw a Rokerij and remembered someone saying the Christmas Pollen was good. So I went in and brought a gram, but decided to keep the mission to Grey Area alive.

Arriving at the Grey Area shortly after 12, we notice that was already busy. However, with it being so small, it isn’t a surprise. So all we could do was stop for a gram of Chocolope, Golden Soles and Lemon Skunk.

A quick look at the map shows we are just around the corner from Amnesia. Perfect we think, considering it’s relatively large, so should be able to accommodate or group. Walking, in we realize it’s all changed. The shop was now only about 6-8 feet deep, with the budtender being on the right hand side. He then explains that they are having some changes for the upcoming, now enforced, smoking ban. Before leaving for another coffeeshop I purchase a bag of Red Cherry Berry.

Remembering that Abraxas has loads of seats we take a wander there. Starting to feel ‘normal’ and with 5 new bags to dry, I started to get my smoke on. I can’t remember the order of the smokes, surprisingly. The Red Cherry Berry was a nice smoke, but no real taste of cherries. It was covered with crystals and orange hairs. The Christmas Pollen was as expected a really nice hash. Not as flavoursome as the Honey Hash, but a nice soft taste none the less. It is around this point that we decide upon unlimited ribs at Coco’s Outback for dinner. So, naturally we wrap up a few more joints and smoke then.

I have to say that I was not as impressed with Grey Area’s green this time as I had been on previous trips. It was still really nice, but not as good as last time. This was partially due to the lemon skunk not being that lemony. I remember the lemon bud around my old way about 4-5 years ago and that was phenomenally lemon tasting and smelling. With it being from Grey Area it was cured really well, but the buds in the bag were really small. The Chocolope. Whilst this was a nice strain, that’s all it was in my opinion. The way people went on about this made me think it was going to be outstanding. Perhaps it was the hype, but I wasn’t overly impressed. The hash from there though, Golden Soles, was a top smoke. It wasn’t as hard pressed as I had expected, and came apart really easily. This was the first time I had brought hash from Grey Area and I have to admit, I will be back for some more in November. However, it is slightly limited. I think Temple Ball, Golden Soles and Grey Mist Crystal have been on there menu for ages.

Sufficiently stoned, we take a walk in the direction of Coco’s. Having never been there before, I was in fear that we may not be able to find it. Till I remember that we saw it yesterday, just down the road from Smokey’s. However there was an obstacle in the way. An annoying street mine person. All of us decided to walk around him by going past the soldier statues in the garden part. Wasn’t in the mood for being harassed whilst high.

Arriving in Coco’s, we order the ribs. We stayed in Coco’s for a few hours and I got through 4 plates of ribs. Not a bad effort. Whilst in here I decided upon having a cigarette before the ban comes in. I don’t normally smoke them, but as it would be possibly the last time I was permitted to smoke a cigarette indoors. Despite it being a Benson Silver, which I did smoke for about 5 years. I think it was since then anyway, whenever they were first in local shop and I got a free packet. :D Ah, £1.99 for 10. Now I think its £2.65! Anyway I digress, partially due to the last of my Dam hash.

We head back to the hotel to have a quick rest and to get ready for the night. All I had planned for the night was BubbleMania and hopefully passing out. After a few more spliffs in the hotel we head out to Greenhouse Centrum.

Arriving at about 8PM ish we notice it was relatively busy. I ask the Budtender for the gram of Bubblemania, get a Looza and start rolling the Bubblemania. With the exchange rate, this worked out at £52 for a gram. In England I could get a gram of cocaine form the other side of the world if, I felt the need to, for less than that. But hey, I was on holiday so I didn’t mind. Now the joint I rolled did knock me for 6, but didn’t make me pass out like I had hoped. It had a really hashy taste and completely overpowered the taste of the green I but in the joint. From here, the night goes blurry. Back to the matter of the price, I think it was worth the money to experience such a strong hash, but the hash itself was not worth the price. I shan’t purchase it again, but that does not mean I didn’t enjoy it.

For the next few hours we walk around the red light area. Needless to say I was a zombie thanks to the Bubblemania joint. I don’t really remember much of the night, but I do remember going to a sex show that was pretty crap really. Someone got thrown out and another got told of for taking a picture. Still, we got to drink more beers in there so it wasn’t too bad.

I know we went into Hunters, but not sure which night it was. I wanted some Purps, but they had none. I settled instead upon some Buddha’s Sisters. Not that impressive, but I didn’t complain. I remember that Holland just lost the football and it was pretty quiet. After a few more joints and another walk around the red light, we head back to the hotel for a smoke up.

Shall do later on in the report once wrtten. The short, it was worth it to experience it, but I wont buy anything like it again. Very strong stoned from it tho, but 65E is quite a bit. Next time I will just buy 5g of Nederhasj from Picasso. But if you have the money and have done multiple grams of cocaine in the past, the cost can be justified. With the exchange rate it works out at £52. I would rather smoke a gram of Bubblemania than do a gram of coke, but I cant say I can justify the costs of either again,

€65?? Bloody hell that is a lot of money. I guess if someone is prepared to buy it then it's there for them. Personally I know where I would rather spend 50 of those euros

Nice list though, I look forward to reading some more details when they are posted.

Same here. Can take a while to upload but you can choose whether to resize them or leave them as original. Plus it is a free hosting site which is always a bonus.

I would have agreed this time a year ago, but the slightest downside always stays in my mind. The you must buy what you smoke 'rule' is bullshit.
