Yeehaaawwww!!!!!

Post by axeman9 »

As i mentioned in a previous topic i was a bit short of cash for my upcoming `Dam trip. Well i work in the gambling business as an odds compiler for various sports, and i get some good info on horses and greyhounds from a lot of people who know a lot. I got a tip for a horse today that weighed in at 18/1! I had 20 sheets on the nag, and scooped £380 including my stake...

....Looks like i'll be smoking Iso-lator after all 8) and shopping at GA more than i thought, and of course some nice food in the evening..

I aint been for 9 months and im practically pissing meself with exitcement. I just cant wait....

Gotta make a new weed and c/shop list now that i have 480 extra euros! happy times are a coming :D

To be honest i used to like em a lot, and i mean a hell of a lot. I dont care what anyone says, Gambling is an addiction if you're not careful. I only bet once or twice a week at most nowadays, usually 10-20 per bet. It got way out of control a few years ago and i had to stop completely, so that i could afford to eat and smoke, and put fuel in my car etc. You have been warned! (not you personally smokestax, just everybody).

I used to work on the call centre when i first started years ago, i'd open a betting account for some one and they'd bet 5 per bet 2-3 times a day. Then you would see em putting on 10-20quid bets on, 5-15 times a day, then finally 50 quid per race 30-40 times a day, Usually ending in the customer "doing his bollocks in" and asking to shut his account down. Now there are steps to ensure this kind of shit doesnt happen, (new gambling act) But it still does, you can see someones life just whittling away in fron of your eyes/ears..... Sad indeed.

Cheers for the replies too guys, bout time i had a bit of good luck.

I think it's only an addiction when you win. Lucky for me I never win any bets so just stick to the odd football accumulators (I say lucky but you know what I mean).
I used to work in Ladbrokes for a year during my time at uni and was amazed by some guys putting 100 quid on one race, and walk out angry when they lost it...or worse get aggressive with others in the shop because their luck wasn't in that day.
It can be fun but I can see (and have seen) the troubles it can bring on some people too.

But anyway....glad you got some more spending money. Have a great trip and we expect to see some ice-o-later reviews on your return now.
