ive been looking to buy a glass pipe and noticed in most of the bowls there doesnt seem to b a ridge to stop ur screen from falling out.do u even need to use a screen with these and where can i get a decent 1 from .thnks in advance
Just chuck your weed straight in, forget the screen, I ordered 2 yesterday from here: http://www.growhigh.co.uk/index.html I'll let you know the quality once I get them.
well from my experiences with bongs, the screen is there so you could get more from your weed or hash, but its not essential.
over here mostly we can get plastic bongs in corner stores (it has a glass pipe of course) and no 1 uses screens they just smoke untill everything goes down the pipe.
i smoke out nothin but glass dont use a screen it makes ur bowl suck ass unless the packing hole is to big an all ur weed falls through then get a screen

I never use a screen with a glass pipe. If the hole at the bottom of the bowl is large enough that some of the weed would go through, I put a small piece of weed at the bottom; slightly larger than the hole. This blocks most of the weed from going into the pipe and/or into your mouth and eliminates the need for a screen. Happy smoke! Peace.
I often buy a fairly cheap (€10 or so) glass pipe to smoke hash in whilst in Amsterdam, which I find you do need a screen in place. Admittedly they are hard to keep in place sometimes but I buy the more solid screens which can bend and be shaped to fit in the end well enough to smoke the hash.
I don't tend to use the glass pipe for weed but as others have said, I doubt you need a screen at all so long as the weed isn't too fine.
the glass screens are a good idea, but from experience I loose them to easily. By the time they are covered in resin, i would always forget they were in my pipe. I would cash them out into an ashtray thinking it was just a blockage and it would be lost.
