Thanks for the love.... Weather is nasty... Pouring rains , but nice temp for me. 65 F...(I live in FL, so very hot)....but happily have current blueness above....2nd day of the smokefest is on!!! All day and night...smoke, walk, eat...repeat !!!.... Details to follow....

I see you've gotten out of the main drag a little. What do you think of Sanementereng C/S? It's on my must-visit list for next time.

hey there my friends, I made it home with a super nasty cold, but at least i can recap the rest of the trip on a normal keyboard.....

Day 3 - AM:

wake & bake some GA Big Buddha Cheese - a real nice smoke for sure...heading to rotterdam at 12, so gotta get moving....who's open early?? started around 9.30...

1. Mellow Yellow - always love this place... picked up some -
2g Pot of Gold - killer indica - one of the best of the trip
2g Blueberry - nice & stinky (our own smelling salts)
1g Super Silver Haze - clean high & very tasty

2. Biba - right back to my new fave...small, but real nice...
3g Laughing Buddha - wanted some goods for Rotterdam just in case it was a bust....picked up some souvenirs and headed back to check out.

farewell Amsterdam...Hello Rotterdam....only about a 1 hour car ride and we were in town passing shops....totally different look & feel to Rotterdam...not nearly as charming....tall, modern buildings...wide sidewalks...less bikers....less shops...lower quality weed (mostly)..... but as i was there for the jazzfest, i was ready to continue the party.....

I had scoped out the ACD and put together a nice shop crawl...the good news was that most of the shops in town were located on a main drag with lots of pubs, shops, etc.. (Neiwe Beinenweg).....

1. C/S Sky High - 2g Bubblegum - decent bud, but a weird vibe....they sell from behind a glass booth with a "security wheel" to make the exchange...no chatting, no viewing...f that ! thats some of the most fun - viewing the difft buds and making the proper selection.....anyway, knew i wouldnt be back there....

2. C/S De Lechande Paus - 2g santa maria - stoner bud...
2g special haze - yummy haze..
although this shop had limited seating ( 3 kings chairs) and also employed the "security wheel', the tender was cool and he came out to chat. we ended making multiple visits here. they also had good headshop items - gotta love the "giga cone"...

time to head over to the jazzfest...went back to the hotel, got ready...loaded up the pockets and took the train over...15 minutes door to door. nice & convenient -time to smoke...hmmm where to light up? ...this is where it got weird...we were the only ones smoking weed...hanging in the smokers sections, we were looked at like I was smoking in America...like, something is just not right about this picture....but i said, to hell with this, i just flew 9 hours to party and nothing is stopping me.... 6 rolled fatties, 8 bowls later my mind and body were grooving to the tunes...the fest was pretty crowded the first day and we ended up stumbling around for almost 8 hours...my back,feet and mind were spent....crash time......one problem - took some hits of the 50 eu Waterworks from Dampkring...wowzer - this stuff is like doing pure blow back in miami in the 80's...ended staying up in my hotel room until 3 smoking indica to try and knock me out....the multiple stroopwaffle cookies didnt help with the insomnia......finally crashed......

Day 4....(starting to get a cold - bummer)....

1. Cafe Witte de Witte - 1g amnesia haze - not too strong - (thats what the grey mist crystals are for....can make any substandard weed the kiiler....the 3.5g of trichromes lasted us all 5 days...a pinch here and there makes the trip)...
1g Top 44 - kinda stinky but weak.

i found that a lot of the weed (not all) in Rotterdam was old...a little dry and not too fresh smelling...i think that has to do with the light traffic the shops experience...i was the only one in a number of them....also a strange vibe....

2. C/S Amigo - this place was winner....cool multilevel seating area with cool tenders.....
1.3 g Bubblegum (always one of my faves)
1.5 g K2 - killer bud-
2g NLX - nice and sticky buddies
very happy with this place....no bongs or vapes, but nice coffee prep and cool crowd...ended the last night here......

3. C/S Nemo - another cool spot, just a stomes throw from Amigo....great soft seats....
1g mexican haze - nice crystals under the scope, but dry...
1g Power plant - this stuff was rockin'... indica downer, just the way i like it....

4. C/S Desire -
1g Power plant - liked it so much, wanted to see if it was a fluke....the PP from Desire was nothing like the one from Amigo....total bust - but only cost 7eu....

i gotta say, the price of weed and hash in Rotterdam is about 30% less across the board than Amsterdam...but give me the killer from GA anytime......

5.Lechande de Paus - right back for some real Power Plant - i was happy to get some very strong stuff. plus, the same cool tender claimed we were the best customer of the week (must have been slow week !!) and threw us a giga cone on the house for our efforts.....good man!!

6.The Act - this is the biggest place in town...3 levels with all sorts of seating....
1g Super Polm - gotta get the "chichi" every once in a while - very tasty - real easy to "spagetti roll"....
1g Red Devil - sort of like orange bud...red hairs everywhere, but once again, not even close to being strong....i end up hitting on the pot of gold from MY...such yummy stuff....

off to the jazzfest for day 2....this time, it's "no holds barred"...meaning - my band Tower of Power is playing at midnight and i better be completely wasted by that time...
rolled up 8 fatties (picked up some great joint holders in mellow yellow) filled with great 'salads" - basically combos of everything we have purchased to date from A-dam.brought a few space brownies from Abraxas as our munchies......good times...good times....made it back to crash around 2......zzzzzzzzz.

Day 5 (the last day - now my cold is in full bloom - yeesh!) - although feeling like crap - its my last hurrah - so I gotta muscle up !!

1. Nemo - started off the day with 1g Edelweiss - hadnt seen this around, so i figured i'd take a taste - pretty up and clean..
2. C/S Alpha Blondy - this was located next to desire, but too busy on my first try....totally a cool shop...cool people, goodbuds and cheap prices.....picked up 1g Amnesia haze - couldnt taste too much ,but certainly got me buzzin....i proceeded to smoke myself into oblivion....broke out the crystals, black, blonde, green and every other color that was available and put on a smoking exhibition for 5 young rotterdam dudes...ended up giving them a bunch of bud and hash, since i was way overloaded for the last day...they loved the microscope...really is cool looking....check out the GM crystals under the scope - pure science......

3. del lechande - made my final farewell to some good people in this shop....of course while i was there, i picked up 1g Heaven haze - wasnt quite heaven - but alright tasting..

off to the jazzfest for the final day - but since i was under the weather - i only went for 'zappa plays zappa" and some junk to buy and rolled back to town for the final giga cone. we decided that c/s amigo had a cool vibe with lots of seats so off we went...
4. Amigo - 1g super polm -a couple of bowls and it was time for the final 'giga cone".. i had rolled it up the day before with all the greatest...almost 7g....took 1 1/2 hours to blow, but i did it....my brothers wanted no part of my joints at that point, because of my illness - so i had to plow it down by myself !!! - certainly a nice final buzz..up, down and all around....headed back to the hotel around 11 to pack and get ready to hit the sack..had a 4 am wake up call coming soon....but another hour of bowls got me extra looped...saved a couple of trichrome bowls for the next morning at checkout.......

off to the airport and 10 hours later, i'm home smoking the chemdog and g13..yes, even with the nasty cold, gotta take couple of hits...i gotta give props to my local dealer...getting this top notch cali bud gives the 'dam bud a run for the money.....not as good as a'dam, but better than r'dam....so i better not complain....

all in all, a great trip...luckily don't have to back to work until weds.......

a couple of notes from my first couple of days in amstedam....
1. grey area...still the best stuff in town...crystals rock and the new dude adam is totally righteous...
2. la tertulia - must take back my props...pretty beat weed on my visit.....
3. Biba - my new fave....in wall "vape" along with killer laughing buddha makes it a winner...
4. Dampkring Waterworks - as previously mentioned, i went for the 50 eu stuff..had to...anyway, his stuff is the mother of all sativas - each hit is like doing a gram of blow (from what i remember 20 yrs ago) ...most uppity ever award..
5. Rokerij- 2 gram coin of indica Ice - totally weak - almost no buzz...total ripoff..stay away from that stuff..
6. Sanementereng - a weird place..nice hippy lady during the day...nasty young girl at night...who knows??
7. Microscope - i recommend a little portable scope that you can immediately tell if you got the goods or not...some places have then on the bar, but why not enjoy those views with every bag you buy....
Dim Sum alert - Grand Palace in rotterdam - super delish....

too bad i'm a good boy......there was absolutely no check at all....i couldve had 10g of trichromes to take home, but never would....usually i see dogs and lots of checks to the bags in Miami airport, but nothing today.....oh well...great trip......

microscope....purchased online from a link on the headshop forum link.....maybe www.420.nl........but for sure, online purchase...really a lot of fun.......

I got one off e-bay for £12 last year as the local shop wanted £30.
