For Furry Freak Brothers Fans

Post by Puffin13 »

For those of you who are Freak Brothers Fans, there is a new book coming out called The Freak Brothers Omnibus. This book has 624 pages! Here is the description from Amazon uk All the Freak Brothers stories, book covers, posters and merchandise collected together in one big volume. Includes a share certificate offer for the upcoming animated movie. The definitive Freak Brothers book for years to come. Not so expensive either. I pre-ordered one. Looks like a gem. :D Peace n Pot.

I still have several copies of the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers comics from about 1970. Still enjoy reading thru them. Here's one link, for more info, just google them: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freak_brothers

Of course I dont mind if you look thru my pics. Please enjoy! :D

The link that itsmymagicallife posted does a pretty good job describing what and who the Freak Brothers are. Basically they started as a short comic strip in some underground newspapers in the early '70's. In '71, Playboy magazine ran some of their strips and also published a pot scoring game with the Freak Brothers that year. They are 3 pot smokin, drug takin, anti-establishment, hedonistic comic book hippies by American artist Gilbert Shelton. Then there was a number of Freak Bros underground comics printed. They are still highly sought after. They still have a major following today after 35+years. One of the famous sayings that came from the Freak Brothers is (and you may have heard it before) "Dope will get you through times of no money, Better than money will get you through times of no Dope". Pot n Peace.

I have been to Fat Freddy's Cat in Schiedam, a few years ago; even wore one of my Fat Freddy's Cat T-shirts. Bummer to hear that it is closed. As I recall, they had some strange operating hours. Just down the street from there is the Freak Brothers cafe; also a coffeeshop. I didnt go in the Freak Brothers shop. They too had weird opening hours.

Thank you Bernum for posting those pics. Very Cool van! :D One Love.

Could I please ask where the pics are as I'd love to have a look, too.

I have several comics, some USA and some UK, as well as The Complete Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers Volumes One and Two, and I am really tempted by the Omnibus, too. I am trying to resist the pre-order as I am broke, but finding it quite hard.

I also have a copy of The Adventures of Fat Freddy's Cat Book 4 from Hassle Free Press published in 1978. It's UK I think.

p.s. and yes to Mr Natural as well, I don't know how to post an image yet, so I just changed my avatar.
