8th Trip (3rd this year!)

Post by Trainwreck »

Due to a new job and a relatively healthy financial situation I've been able to jaunt off to the beloved city twice already this year. Once on a solo trip for a couple of days in February and another time for 5 days with two of my closest friends in March.

Anyway I love the city so much that it is enough for me to just be there, having already done all the museumy touristy cultury things in previous trips. Just sitting in its cafes, bars and coffeeshops and walking its streets is enough for me these days. So with that in mind I have booked my third trip of the year, I'll be going solo and leaving early this Saturday (19th) and coming back late on the Tuesday (22nd) flying from Liverpool. 4 full days to myself in Amsterdam. :)

I've booked into the Rookies hotel because I've heard good things about it, and I need a hotel that is definately going to let me smoke. There are more and more hotels going completely non smoking, so hotels owned by coffeeshops seem like the last refuge of the midnight toker.
Just realised today that Rookies has wireless internet, so I've decided to bring my laptop along for the ride, despite the piece of shit that it is it still has a wireless chip in it.

So, perhaps, if I'm not too fucked up, and if I make it back to the hotel while my brain can still communicate with my limbs. I might be able to type up a few live 'hot off the press' style reports about my smoking exploits as I progress. Perhaps I could even upload a few pictures but this is all dependant on me not getting too fucked up and deciding it's just not worth the hassle.

So perhaps you'll hear more from me in the 'after or during' forum at the weekend. I always enjoy reading the live reports, and I have lurked for long in enough so perhaps I'll give a little back.

Bye for now.

I predict this happens. In fact, for your sake, I hope it happens. Have fun.

Have fun, I stayed at the rookies in june, smoking was fine. I even smoked out on the breakfast terrace without any complaints. The two guys who run the Hotel are helpful and friendly. You'll have a great time :!:

So can you still smoke at the "Coffeeshop" hotels?

If I'm taking my laptop then it makes sense to use it for something I suppose. It just depends, on the quality of the internet connection at Rookies for one thing. I will try to make a few posts on what I've smoked though if I can.

I've heard nothing but good things about it so I reckon I've made a good choice. Can't ask for a better location as well.

Most hotels are now completely non-smoking, but a lot of the time it's about discretion when you're smoking weed. Even in some smoking rooms you still need to be careful because of a lot of hotels having no-drugs policies. That's why I prefer to go to hotels owned by coffeshops, no paranoia about getting thrown out the hotel if the maid smells it in the air.
