I've seen swarms of mozzies (I cant spell for shit either) in places like Marken & Volendam but only a few in Amsterdam, I always take something with me as they seem to love the taste of my blood (I reckon its the weed & beer) so if they like you then I'd take something with you.

There is no malaria or dengue fever in the Netherlands, I think you are quite safe.

I have never seen any mossies at all, and they LOVE me in the tropics. Apparently they do exist though.

If you want to worry about something, vermin-carried diseases are much more likely. And the clap.

when we have outdoor smoking sessions in blighty in the summer we use these:

harmless to humans, they smolder like incense and seem to work.

With big open windows pop one just outside and the insects wont come in.

We got bitten to death by mosquitoes when we were there at the beginning of July. Never encountered mossies there before.
