Hi everyone. We're new to this forum, and would like some advice for when we take our first ever trip to Amsterdam end of August.Wife and I have smoked many years, usually Northern Lights skunk, grown organic by a friend. We'll be looking for a coffeeshop that sells quality pure pre-rolled tubes,no tobacco,no crap! If it's local(ish)to our hotel near Leidseplein,so much the better. We've had different advice re Bulldog and Grasshopper, some good some not. What do you think??An idea of prices would also be really helpful. We hear there is now a tobacco smoking ban there,as here.Does this mean more coffeeshops have quality pre-rolleds? Places to avoid also of interest!. Thanks everyone, look forward to posting a review of your recommends on return.

^^ avoid grasshopper and bulldog, they are crappy!
As for an advice for pre rolled I can't really help you out, since I never buy pre rolled, but I thing Dampkring has good ones.
I'm sure more fellows ACD'ers will advise you.

Peace

Welcome to the forum, dammit.
Many coffeeshops sell pre-rolled joints, when you get there, just look on their menu to see what they have, and whether its pure, or with tobacco.
If not sure, just ask the dealer- most will answer your questions.
Have a look at FBN's menu website here to have a look at some coffeeshp menu's.
Also, have a look at the coffeeshop map to see which shops are close to you.
When in Amsterdam, I don't tend to buy pre-rolled, but I did buy a Waterworks joint at Dampkring, which was knockout.

less reputable shops use leaves etc rather than bud for pre rolls. I avoid them for that reason.

If you struggle rolling, someone in a coffeeshop will help you out. seek out a guy with a nice looking joint and get him to roll urs for u. give him hits.

Pretty much all coffee shops sell pre-rolled joints, but you can't be sure of the quality/strain of the weed, how much gear is actually in it, etc. I'd just avoid them, use a bong or vaporiser, or if you prefer to smoke joints just get approach someone in the shop to help you out - noones going to turn down rolling you a joint if they get a few draws =p

Avoid grasshopper and bulldog like the plague, they're noisy (think loud horrible music rather than a lot of people talking), have obnoxious staff, and have crap menu's

Seriously you must avoid The bulldogs, Grasshoppers, a place called Paradise, Free Adam - these are all places that take advantage of tourists and stock inferior weed often for unfair prices.

Dampkring, Grey Area, Amnesia, De Kuil, Barneys, Homegrown Fantasy, Mellow Yellow- these are the ones you need to seek out!

You should just try and learn to roll man, I couldn't for a good while and thought it was difficult but it really isn't! Get someone to show you and then practise with tobacco- some staff in coffeeshops will roll for you if its quiet but you don't wanna have to ask all the time. You are seriously missing gout if you only smoke pre rolled- you wanna get some of the good stuff and grind it into a real joint!

it's really not difficult, don't let any idiot tell you a joint has to be a work of art, if it smokes well then you're set

there's lots of different types of joints and lots of different ways to roll a joint but for you're standard king size skin joint:

http://www.everyonedoesit.co.uk/cannabi ... _joint.cfm

this guy uses cigarette tobacco which I wouldnt advise (dry and horrible) use some golden virginia or drum gold.

Also two things:

-most people rip a good portion of the paper off, but you can leave that bit out when you're learning
-some people put the roach in when rolling, some do that after they've rolled it. it makes no difference which you do really, putting the roach in first is probably easier when you're learning

im gonna step in for the bulldog and grasshoppers defence.

they can be fun. the more bar like/less stoner nature of the places can be of use now and again, if your in the mood.

i wouldnt advise buying weed at those places, simply because much better is available at a short walks distance away, but i always like to spend some time out the front of the bulldog palace, with a beer, watching the people in leidseplein do their stuff.

if need be, bulldog also sell rolling paper, that has been pre-made into a cone shape so all you have to do is fill them up with weed, twist the top and light em up. (u can get these in all the paraphalia shops too btw)
