Rituals

Post by Twitch »

I guess because of being the old man of the group I still pass a j around when w/friends if not using vapo. Use ZigZag Orange and roll rather fat joints, have been doing this for many, many  years, but since discovering the Volcano I've proven that old dogs Can learn new tricks  ( Would miss sitting in circle and smoking though, need that circle to keep the Qi flowing )

I don't think j's have anything to do with being an old man. My whole group prefers to smoke joints to anything else. And most of us prefer bowls to vaporizers. Shrug. Though to be fair, none of us have smoked the Volcano so our opinions are always open for revision. However, I have smoked unfiltered cigarettes for 18 years now and a J feels the most natural to me to smoke. I get the most enjoyment out of it, and the enjoyment of any ritual is part of its appeal.

i use king size rizla the sliver ones. use a roach from the green card in the back of the rizla pack or from a roach book which u can buy from our local head shop. i try to roll my joints the same thickness throughout because then u get the same toke everytime u smoke it, compared to when u roll a cone where one half is fat and the other half is skinny. when smoking with other people, the person who rolls the spliff smokes it to 2's (half way) and the passes it to the left.

IM from east coast America and when me and my friends are sharing a blunt/joint we usually follows the puff puff pass rule. We do use rouches, but i get mine off boxes of ciggeretes. The small flap uner the front part of the lid works nicely! other then that just get in a shotgun round and we are good

I love variety, and I how I smoke will often depend on the circumstances.

With that disclaimer out of the way, when I sitting at home, I usually reach for my current favorite pipe - Raydiator (tm) by Mori Designs - air-cooled titanium, and easy to clean.

I love all types of bongs, but they take a bit of prep work; and I often do the cool, icy liquid trick that is discussed in another thread.

Brad, count me in as one who calls the rolled up bit of cardboard used at the end of a joint a *crutch*.

I like the ritual of rolling joints. I always remove the glue strip; I think the glue strip causes the majority of uneven joint burning problems. I use papers made from - wait for it....hemp!

When I was in the US, how we smoked socially tended to depend on the quantity of the stash. When the quantity was low, we would hurridly toke and pass, so as not to waste any of the precious smoke.

When we all had plenty, it was completely acceptable to roll a *personal* joint, and smoke it any old way you wanted to.

Where I am now, pot is somewhat scarce. Hash is more readily available. People smoke pipes and share, or they roll tobacco laced joints with a crutch tip. I cannot smoke tobacco, so I usually carry a very small pipe, and get a bowl full of the pure stuff. :D

(resurrecting the dead topic)

I've found that the best way to smoke weed is... wait for it...

Prerolled cigarette tubes! I like the king size ones with 8mm menthol filters, as it most often blends nice with the taste of the smoke, and allows for long cool drags with no burn feeling.

An injector for prerolled tubes is less than $10, and 200 king size tubes with menthol filters (premier or gizeh) costs about three dollars. That's like $0.015 per tube. (actually less, because sometimes a couple tubes get crushed during shipping and become unusable, so companies include like 15 extra tubes in case this happens)

This provides many benefits and I haven't seen a single con yet. They look just like normal cigarettes, so they wont arouse suspicion if you drop one somewhere. They have menthol filters, so you can take nice long drags without any uncomfortability. And they're DEAD easy to make. Just grind your herb, put it in the injector, slide a tube onto the nozzle and operate the injector.

This "ritual" started a long time ago, when one of my friends (who smoked marlboro menthols) put her cigarette in a pipe full of grass and smoked the pipe through her cigarette and said "mm minty". So I tried smoking a pipe with a menthol filter on the end and it was amazing. =D

i love pre-rolled tubes, but menthol filters is just wrong.

I would never contaminate my quailty herb with menthol, in fact i don't really like any of those "filter" things at all. Rolled up piece of card is perfect for me.

BUT nothing beats the Volcano!!!!

To each his own, I guess.

I swear, after the first puff or two, you really can't tell the menthol's there. =P It just smoothes out the whole experience.

I would never ever smoke weed in a pre-rolled ziggy tube, it burns all to fast, paper is too thick and tastes awful. I would probably even say no to a free joint rolled from red Rizla, same problem.

When smoking joints I prefer either OCB Slim (black one w silver writing), Grey (Silver?) Rizla (slim long ones) or Black Smoking (deluxe slim I think) since they are very thin, manageable papers great for rolling a nice spliff (of course with a roach in it, made from either the green stuff in the paper packs, used ziggy packs or even one of the tonnes of pizza menus we get tossed in our mailbox daily)

Gahhh, I hate to sound like a dick, but I just freak out when you guys call those little cardboard handles roaches.

To me, a roach is little bit of scorched weed in a scorched paper that comes from the part of a joint you can't smoke without roach clips or burning your hand. You smoke a roach in a bowl, or roll it at the end of a joint, so you don't waste the weed inside.

If anything, those little tubes should be called roach clips, not filters or roaches. =P

Not clip like a barber's clippers, clip as in paperclip.

These are a few roaches and a freshly rolled joint for comparison.

Two examples of a roach clip:
a surgical hemostat (the lockable pliers used to hold blood vessels closed during surgery)
Image

an alligator "gator" clip (a device used in electronics to quickly establish contacts)

You use a roach clip to hold your roach of la cucarocha. Get it?
