Hey people, going back over at the end of August and wondered if anyone had stayed at either place since the smoking ban?

Can you still smoke weed in the rooms?

or even a cheeky one with baccy?

Cheers :)

Yes.
A towel or blanket at the bottom of the door to block outdraught and a shower cap or something similar over the smoke detector...i stayed in a fair few different hotels in Amsterdam and had success using this method. Although if you've got a window(which is likely) i wouldn't even worry.

same here, always do that. But pour the towel in water for perfect efficiency.

Cheers guys, Rookes is only available for 1 night of the trip :(

I rang the Greenhouse Effect to enquire about availability and they were a little short on the phone, basically just saying "email the reservation form" and hanging up the phone...

Only problem is that you have to include all card details on a fairly insecure looking reservation form:

https://www.greenhouse-effect.nl/form.php

Has anyone used this method to book up?

LOL, let me rephrase, it was not really correct: put a wet towel.(put the towel in water before putting it at the bootom of the door.)
Peace

jonny, do you mind sharing the cost of the rooms?

Not at all, Retro is 95 euro a night (shared bathroom :( )

Fluo is 130 a night (as you can see in the link it's actually a 3 person room).

I really sympathise with you across the pond folk, hotels have gone up about 5 fold for me in the last 20 years making trips much more expensive than they used to be but for you guy's it must cost a fortune :(

Oh well, 28 days to go :D
