Is a smartshop a comfortable place to trip?

I’ve been in the forum for a few weeks now without posting a really stupid question, so here goes: Is a smartshop a good place to trip? Although I have used mushrooms many times, I have never used them inside a smartshop.
I know from experience that mushrooms should be taken in a safe and familiar environment. Occasionally I took mushrooms inside my comfortable London apartment, when mushrooms were still legal in the UK. I would certainly never take mushrooms while wandering the streets of Hackney at night, on the other hand.
For comfort and safety, a few years ago in Amsterdam, my friend and I chose to use our hotel room when tripping on mushrooms. The hotel room gave us a sense of security, easy access to food, toilets, our own music, etc. At the same time, however, the room felt a bit dark, colourless, boring, and claustrophobic.
Many people suggest Vondelpark. But Vondelpark is far away from my hotel, it is a rather public place, and it is not at all familiar to me.
Next month in Amsterdam, I have a number of concerns about tripping inside a smartshop. My friend and I would have to trip next to strangers, which would be a new experience for me. Also, I wonder how I can eat my favourite foods, listen to my favourite music, find the toilet, be comfortable, etc. I do understand that a smartshop (like Kokopelli) might sell tea. But since a trip can last five hours, tea seems an insufficient comfort.
(Incidentally, I wonder how smartshops can make a profit by selling mushrooms for just 15 euros, while I spend five hours lounging in their high-rent property?)
Finally, I am concerned about walking back from the smartshop to the hotel, possibly at night, possibly while still tripping. It doesn’t seem safe and comfortable to do so.
On the other hand, I suppose an advantage of tripping inside the shop is that the staff are experienced and can advise people during their trips.
Please forgive my ignorance; I would be grateful for your advice.
