the longer you cure it the better basically, it will taste a LOT nicer and be a LOT stronger once its cured. You can always dip a bit out of the jars as its curing to tide you over?

If you're that desperate, put it in a small room with a dehumidifier for 24-36 hours, and within a couple days thereafter, it will be dry enough to smoke.

Don't overdo it on the dehumidifier or you'll go from moist to crispy. If the drying area is particularly warm, it may not be a good idea to use one at all.

If you don't have a dehumidifier, or have a particularly warm dry area and don't want to use one, your smallest buds can be ready to smoke within 4-5 days if you have good ventilation moving directly onto the vegetation (i.e., a fan), and relatively warm temperatures in the room.

It's better to dry slowly, over a period of about 2-4 weeks, but those are your speediest options, short of putting it in an oven.

the longer the better....leave the best to cure for as long as you can bear...smoke the not so good bits if you have to but keep the best til last....it'll be worth it!!!!!......i have a jar of the best stuff of mine that i leave for 6 months and what a difference it makes 8)....if you're that desperate...smoke the trimmings, the hash from the scissors anything except the stuff you've put into cure

I'll agree that curing improves the flavour but it doesn't make it stronger:
Growth stops at harvest and the THC content will probably decrease from now on.

your right,my mistake...but you forget how good it is after 6 months and it just seems that way....but long cure is the way for flavour ,i also find the longer the cure the smoother the smoke....is that right?.....i really gotta start smoking less

Yeah I agree with you on that, the last grow of mine you could taste the differance between what I smoked at the beginning of the cure and what I smoked that had been cured the longest.

I disagree about smoking less though, smoke more!! :D

There is a link on these forums to a page somewhere that goes into great depth about water curing.

They use a whole 7 days, which removes flavour and taste. But there is a guy in the middle who posted about trying a 3 day cure, which he posted results of saying worked very well.

I have tried a 3 day cure and it was fantastic. I used to wait 3 months

I'll try and find the link, then edit this post. It is the only way to go, but you have to do it correctly, I got air trapped once and lost a quarter of weed, so be very careful.

Can't find the original post, but here is someone else's report on it. It's a start :)

OK, I just signed up to that site and tried to explain in the threads the additional information I have learned. I hope that explains it to you, if not, have a search around, it is pretty straight forward. :D

My advice is to let it dry in a cool dark place until the larger bud stems snap when you bend them. Small amounts I put in a nice maple box with the lid propped open. Larger amounts you can hang in paper bags in a closet. Then place in glass containers in the freezer.

The more you rush the drying the less good it tastes.

IMHO,
chuckje.

I have a theory that relative humidity in your region plays a crucial part. Haven't fully researched though.

Relative humidity?, around here that's the beads of sweat that form on your
sister-in-laws back while you take her from behind.
