G'day Folks

Post by Sidthecrow »

Hello

I have just registered after reading this site for the last couple of weeks, after arranging a trip to Amsterdam on the 9th September, wanted news on the smoking ban and how that may affect my tokeing over there, thanks to this site I now know that there is not that much to be worried about.

Anyway came across this forum and have been addicted to reading about some of the trip reports - found them to be entertaining and informative.

I’m from Merseyside going to the Dam with a couple of mates from down Devon way, looking forward to it very much so this will be visit number 6.

My favourite coffee shops are varied many not so much because of the herb but the memories (or lack of) they hold for me.

Number 1/ City Hall - maybe not the greatest of herb and may be a bit of a tourist trap but a coffee shop I visit over and over again. The first time in Amsterdam for about 3 years I embarrassed myself by purchasing a pre-rolled only to light it and sneeze it leaving me with an empty cone a perfect fan shape of grass in front of me and quite a lot of laughter from all sides.

Number 2/ Extasee - Yes I know a massive tourist trap but again second time in the Dam I was sitting in with a few friends smoking Hash through a pipe, listening to some sort of horrendous Christmas reggae album that seemed to go on forever, after hearing the same beats over and over again I was taken out of my trance like state when one of the buttenders realised that it was jumping and basically looped the same 20 second for about 2 hours.

Number 3/ Green House - Used to hate it mainly coz one of mates went really white in there and they were less than sympathetic and surprisingly rude about it - I was to find though when I have ventured back there weed has been top notch and staff friendly and helpful.

Honourable mentions - Rockery (spelling?), Grey Area, Free Adam always seem to end up in there, grey area and Hill Street blues. Also liked the 'other place' think its closed now it was the one that was decorated with loads of painted plaster faces on the outside and could very have well been a Hells Angels ran place.

Fave Herbal substance -

The best Hash I have ever smoked Nepalese (Gold??) Cream in 2005.
Mexican Shrooms in 2006
Purple Haze in 2001
White Widow 2001
Sorry cant remember where any was purchased.

Hope to share experiences from this upcoming trip and if I can find them and get arround to scanning the on to my computer some photographs of previous adeventures.

Cheers!

For some reason it alway surprises when people say they have lived in Birkenhead as we don't tend get many 'outsiders' moving to the area.

Been living in plymouth for the last few years but I missed the north west to much

I am unfortunately an Evertonian as well, think it could be a rather hard season.

Glad to hear that theres good stuff arround and can not wait to do some sampling as it has been a little while since I have had anything outstanding.

Well maybe it was just my room, i dunno. It was very small, and the window looked straight in to the staff-room. It was definately a 1 star establishment in my opinion. I wont be going there again. There was no foyer/lobby either. you pay at the Bureau de Change, which is situated on the ground floor of the place. And the restaurant where breakie is available is next door. Bizarre to say the least. Its not a kinda place where you could go back and chill out during the day either really. But if you just want a place to crash for 8-10 hours a night then go for it. Good location. I only stayed one night, and it was cheap i guess....

All that aside, you'll be pretty caned to bother/care hopefully.

And you say you aint been for 3 years!? Wow, well its stil the same but better.

Are you taking the missus? I dunno if she would approve to be fair. I prolly wouldnt take my g/friend there, but hey............

Have a blast man....... and smoke plenty :D 8)

Also take a print out of the map here..... https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/Map.html

Be sure to frequent the likes of Dampkring, Grey Area, Pink Floyd, Dolphins, Ricks, Rokerij and The Coin... etc

I have a season ticket aswell, prob not the best investment i admit
But you know Evertonians - always the optimists. But we need new faces at the club. Oh its a grand old team to play for................. :D

...And if you know your history.

It is for the most part quite a friendly place although some of the young kids that hang around are a little crazy - though that is probably true of most places.

New faces and a new board asap.
