Post by erf »

i plan on buying some pieces from the headshops in a'dam next munf and was just curious if it is all safe and legal to take these things back to the states. i'd hate to come back from dam without at least couple of pipes ya know?

much safer to mail them to yourself and if you have the chance even safer to mail them from outside Amsterdam a none Amsterdam post mark raises far less red flags.

I would never try to take them through Customs even if they did not arrest you according to local laws where you land you could count on a much more thorough and intense and possibly unpleasant search.

Also if you have used any of them before you mail I would put the used ones in a separate package the unused ones should be no problem at all getting safely through the mail.

Ab covered pretty well...just wanted to say that if they are used don't bother not worth the risk.....clean just depends on where you land...mail would be the safest bet...

and just on a side note....IMO you can get significantly better glass pieces here than you can in the dam. Seemed to me like glass wasn't as big a deal there as it has become here in the states.

i kno that u can bring them back on your person back to the states however they MUST be unused. and as mazdog said i believe to that u.s pieces are better just for that they primarily use papers. if ya want a piece just get one for sentimental value

as I said it all depends on where you land some states do not even have a paraphenalia law and some do....some are mild fines and some down right spank your ass with fines and jail time.....I still think mailing them to yourself is safest you will have your prize in a few days 8)

Sorry to revive an old thread. But I figured it'd be easier than making a new one.

I was wondering If anyone has ever brought a pipe over to the dam. I have a glass piece that I bought at Hash Bash last year and I would love to bring the lil guy over to smoke some killer budz. I keep it clean (formula420 or just salt&alcohol) so I was thinking that maybe there was someway. anyone ever done this? or maybe theres a way I can mail it there.

when i was livin outside of edinburgh i carried one back with me and accidentally had a lil chunk of hash that i didnt share with the ex  . in fact the guy at scottish cutoms just asked me if i had fun and sent me on my way (gotta love the scots)! of course i think our lovely US customs will bullshit you about it.

i dont know how it works in the us but i do it quite alot, bringing bak grinders etc.

i just count on being able to blag the customs officer that i 4got about it due to being thoughlly & constantly mashed for the past 4 days.

If you dont feel comfortable doing it dont dude, cos you'll look even more sketchy if your paranoid and all shifty walking thru customs!

If I were going to bring a pipe or even a bong back with me from the dam, I'd have a pouch of pipe tobacco wrapped up with it in my suitcase.

Worth the cost of the pipe tobacco because if there's ANY question even though I doubt there will be if there's a pouch of tobacco sitting there with it I think they'd just let it pass, but you can say they're a gift

I ALWAYS bring back new & unused stuff only - brought a couple of nice chillums once and the US customs agent picked it up and carefully looked it over. "It's still new!" I told him. The agent just shook head and said "I GOTTA go to Amsterdam". :o

Go figure

LOLOL that was funny love stories like that.

I figured I could even say (since I don't smoke cigarettes) I have a friend who smokes hookah's and that this was like one of those acting kind a dumb about it saying I thought it would be a neat gift lololol like you said as long as they're clean, I don't see a prob.
