HELP NEEDED: curing

Hey brothers and sisters,

I picked up some very damp bud last night and read here that its best kept in the dark in an air tight jar, allowing about an hours worth of air per night. What i was wondering is how large should the jar be? I have about an oz packed into quite a small jar with no real air-space, is this OK or should it be in a bigger jar and sitting loose rather then all compacted in? Also how long should it take to cure/dry? I had some last night and it seemed ok (mashed my potatos) but the taste was'nt there.
As always people, your help is invaluable. Cheers.
PS: paranoid that its going to go off and start moulding - had that happen before - serious heavy bummer

soundls like you should dry it a bit more before putting it in a jar to cure.

put the buds in ur curing jar but leave it open (id say a bigger one is better that has airspace) for a few hours and make sure u check on it. once you are satisfied with its dryness u can go on to curing, peace :D

i think u will be fine my man, i have left 3.5G in a plastic bag for a couple days and it was just fine. so just take the top off when u get home and check it every 30 min to an hour (i say this not knowing how much drying the buds need) so that you dont over do it. all should be fine.

Don't know if it'll work for weed, but I had great success using the packet of silica gel from a camera case to dry out "something else" at a festival last month.

Maybe try putting a packet in the jar, if you have one.

just a silica packet in a glass jar and thats it? i thought all that does is remove oxygen?

Silica gel is a dessicant - ie it removes moisture (well, it absorbs water from the atmosphere around it). It worked well with powder that had got damp.
