Chocolate Question

Post by BuffaloBethandLee »

Last time my wife and I were in Amsterdam we went to Chocolata and had some of the bon bons- with very happy results. I understand that Abraxas took it over, and from a couple of the reviews, it looks like they are not worth the price any more.

We would really like to find a place that makes good hash/pot chocolates that we could buy for our trip, but can't seem to find anything out there besides space cakes and the like. Anyone have any idea where we might be able to find some chocolate?

it is really a shitty answer.. but no commercial coffeeshop or actually any coffeeshop in amsterdam has decent space cakes... if you smoke a fair amount and are used to decent space cakes etc you will be very disapointed..

my best advise is to make them yourself and find a local who can make them for u..

imo space cakes are for the non smokers who want to get high, I found after a full days smoking in Amsterdam and a couple of space cakes that did not affect me I can understand how people can think of them as a rip off, My fiancee on the otherhand has not let a J or Bong past her lips and she liked spacecakes from certain shops.

I always get the space cake from grasshopper, (just off damrak near centrall station) for the couple of usually boring hours in the airport.

these are awesome, really nice and buzzy stone. i would definatly recommend those.

Absolutely agree. At Chocolata, they used to put 0.2 grams of hash in a bonbon, and you can bet it's all cooking-grade. At minimum, I put 0.4 to 0.5 grams in a single brownie, and have put as much as 0.8 grams in single brownies (which is too much), and probably three-fourths of what I cook with is good smoking-grade hash from a 120-micron bag. For applications when you are not able to smoke, space treats are a very viable option, if made correctly.

Absolutely disagree. Smoking is a faster delivery system -- it takes about an hour for eaten cannabis to take effect -- but if you have the right product, the body buzz from a space treat is far longer-lasting than smoking. And if you have the right product, after about three or four hours, you realize a funny thing: You want to smoke a joint again, but haven't craved one for hours!

thanks, but...

Thanks for the general info, but we are more likely looking for the Bon-bon type of candies instead of the space cake type, due to both size and longevity considerations. We will be on a cruise with no discrete smoking area, and would like enough for the both of us for about 10 days while in Europe. Smoke would be great if it weren't for the fact that we will probably be surrounded by 60-80 year olds that might not be very open minded. Candies with a kick that can be consumed in our non-smoking cabin, and that don't take up too much space would be perfect.

Seems that there is no place I can find that has anything like that anymore since Chocolata closed. No chance Abraxas Too makes them there I guess- of they aren't very good if they do.

First chance for us to visit Ams in about 8 years, and since we are only there for one day before the cruise starts, would like to scout out some place that we can get discrete candy or other non-smoking form. THanks again for any info you can give.

Bluebird used to have them, but it's been a while since I've been there.
