As far as Afghani hash is concerned it is almost unavailible....Or the real deal Afi anyways/...Most stuff sold as afi is border hash and this is a mix of resins from different countries and often has binders to stick the low quality powder together..

The only quality gear you might find under 10euros is a good Polm which is a Moroccan with a golden color and lightly pressed,not busting many glands which keeps the color lighter...
The Choco Morocs being shown are either very mature resins or have small amounts of oil added to give this effect....This can range from crap to down right excellent...
The best hashes availible in shops are usually Moroccans with some Nepali making a show on occasions...There is also a lot of genetic material from Afghanistan,Pakistan and other countries being grown in Moroccan and some of these resins are great...
One batch last year was by far the most potent import I tried over 18 days and it was an Af-Pak-Maroc....

I dont know how concerned you are about this, but to be true, the afi which is brought to holland really is from afghanistan, its nice quality for low prices, but its definitely from there......or do you have a good source you would trust who says something else?

Another user asked a similar question a while back. If you don't mind, I'll copy/paste my reply from that thread:

Hash is a big subject, but let me try to explain the two main types of hashes that you will see in Adam a bit:

Moroccan: This is probably the most common hash you will see in Europe. Moroccan has is usually produced by shaking the buds for their trichomes, which are then pressed into blocks. Color varies from light sandy blond to dark chocolate-like brown. The appeal of the smell/taste is subjective, so I will let you judge that for yourself. For me, there is nothing better than a blunt wrap filled with a nice tobacco/Moroccan mix.

Afghan/Pakistani/Indian/Nepalese: Hash from the mentioned countries is most often produced via the hand-rubbing method. Ie. rubbing your hands gently against the buds, thus collecting the delicious trichomes on your skin. Scrape the residue off at the end of the day, and there's your hash. This hash is very dark/black. The taste and smell of this hash can vary (as does all cannabis), but I am most often reminded of sitting a field of flowers, drawing in their smell through a veil...

A good way to check the quality of a hash, is to first of all to look at the softness of the product - the softer the better generally. This is not always the case, and some hash can be hard/awesome or soft/shitty, but the softness is generally a good indicator. If you feel like you could mold your hash into little figures, then it is probably of a nice quality. This is especially the case with black hash.

Another way to check the quality of your gear is to put a flame to it. If it bubbles, your hash is most likely of "good" quality. Again, this is not always the case, so buyer beware.

You will be able to find a wide variety of both Moroccan and black hashes in Amsterdam. I advise you to check out the other threads on the site for info on what's hot at the moment.

Many Europeans smoke their hash with tobacco, either in joint- or pipe/bong-form. Some (mostly Scandinavians??) will "toast" their cigarettes (heating up the cigarette until it emits vapor and then blowing in the cigarette), nicotine has a relatively low boiling point, and it is possible to heat a cigarette and evaporate the nicotine, without setting fire to the cig - takes some practice though

It is also possible to smoke your hash without the evil weed. Either mix is with some nice green, or smoke it by itself in a pipe. I am sure it is also possible to vaporize hash. You won't need to fiddle with pins/goo if you are smoking Moroccan or Afghaan - you just crumble it with your fingers, or roll it into small sausages if it is really soft.

Wrong! no hash comes out of Afganistand anymore its been like this for 20years now! all hash wit name Afg.. is from the borders of Pakistand in pakistand! how i know this? cause iv got 5 friend in the army and they all sayed it you cant find heroien but NO hash if you want hash you need to cross the borders to Pakistand and ive got 3 friend from pakistand who are in they late 60s whom cant tell you the same thing! its been like this since 1989!so what ever CS telling you its afg hash they selling to you is a LIAR!

No quality hash is produced in Afghanistan for the commercial market...
It is all low quality mixed resins from different countries...Mainly pakistan..(hence the name border hash)
And from the post above about soft hash...This is completely wrong as well....If hash is soft and moldable at cool temps then it has a binder in it...Such as oil,animal fat,henna(milk) or other...All quality hash will be hard when cold and soften as it warms...If it is that squidgy shit that leaves a brown film or stickiness on your finhgers then it is oiled..

Quality hash does creep out of Afghanistan on the rare occasion but this is very rare and it never makes it to a coffeeshop..I do remember Bluebird entering some Mazari-Shariff about 10 years back in the cup that looked to be high quality...Big pic in the ceneter of the mag and the chunk looked like it had been cut by a hot knife(if you remember)...

Please please for those of you who think you know where quality Afi is I will trade you 10 grams of Bubba Kush for 5 grams of the Afi....LOL....Anyday...Or do you want OGKush,,,or would you rather have the "White"...You name the strain and I will get it to you.....LOL..

I'm not so sure of the veracity of the above statement. You are obviously right that good hash will become softer as it is heated, but a lot of quality Moroccan will be relatively soft at room temp. My own experience from smoking primarily hash (Moroc) for the last 7-8 years, is that the harder your hash is at room temp, the shittier it is likely to be(note this has not been true for all Moroccan hashes I've tried, but for the most part it has been the case).

But then again, I haven't made very much hash myself, and have never been to see a Moroccan hash farm - if only

I did not post anything about room temp,but did post that quality hash will be hard when COLD....And soften as it warms...This has been true for all the moroccan I have smoked...And yes it is a little soft at room temp,but when cold it is like a rock...And will sound like such when you drop it on a counter..But yes,warming in the hands will make it very pliable..
It's the oily soft even when cold hash that I speak of..Most people from the states have no idea what good hash is and but this crappy 5 to 7 euro border hash that is held together by binders and barely qualifies as hash..A lot of people post up about this crap and call it good...When the simple fact is they do not know good hash..
The only really good cheap hash I found last year was from GHUnited,the King Hassan and Hassan Extreme..No,I am not a GH fan but really liked these hashes for the price..
I guess most people do not realize just how good hash can be when they are happy with that border shit..I just wish they would spend an extra 5 euros and get a real hash experience instead of that cloudy high associated with oiled hash...

Ever thought that maybe some people smoke hash because they like that cloudy high? and that when they smoke something that doesn't give them a cloudy high they call it shit. So when they smoke your super hash, they'll call it crap, and then you'll disagree.

At the end of the day, it's all subjective. You say people have no idea what good hash is, I put it to you that you do not know what good hash is.

That not meant to be a criticism of you, that is meant to say purely, that what you view as good hash, and the next person views as good hash may well differ. But if you like your hash, and they like theirs, it is good hash. Your opinion on what makes good hash, is just that, your opinion, and opinions differ, it's what makes the world go round.

SR is right man, i have no idea what good weed is, im pretty sure on what i know my faveourite weed is. I prefer outdoor, some people hate outdoor and would call it crap. Hash is majorly subjective because i find the dark and light hashes give different highs, so you might find the high off dark hashs shit, because its oily etc as you said. I personally love darker hashs and would take it over light anyday.

In the small town of Jarrow all I could find was shitty shitty shitty hash. Mustve had the good stuff once and I can't remember the taste

there are many types of hash:

The Blonde ones (maroc) - like Polm, Super Polm, King Hassan, Cream...
most of the blonde hashes are polms (not so hard pressed than normal hash)... very delicous and creamy nice stoned. The best blonde hash is normally King Hassan... very smooth and tasty... best qualitys are quite strong but really hard to find (in dam too)

Darker ones (maroc) - like Caramello, Chocolata...
the darker hashes are stronger and sometimes had a more uplifting high than the blonde ones. The dark colour comes from the high oil content and the pressing method.

Black ones (Nepal, Afghan, Charras, Melana Cream, Pakistan)

very dark and most of the time a strong spicy smell. Not pressed like the marocs... hand rubbed... it´s most of the time a very soft hash. The best Quality in Black hash is Melana Cream (India) and Nepal Temple Balls (Nepal) but there are many other types like Melana Cream or the Balls...
The best black hash I ever had was the Pakmar (Paki/Maroc) from Bluebird so damn nice you can see the crystals in the hash... it makes bling bling and the taste YAMMMM. Some people say that the black ones are narcotic (so more Indica type of buzz) but the best grades (like Temple Balls) are so mindblowing and makes me so happy unbeliveable (not Indica Sativa like).
There are some new hashes around like nepal polm that´s no hand rubbed hash it´s hash from nepal with the polm pressing method... but I don´t like it to expanisive and no good effect only mellow high.

I prefer dark marocans... it´s so damn nice hash with a real strong high
not only the normal stoned effect. The best one I ever had was the Rifman Christmas Special Hash (18€/g) never had such a first quality hash again awesome!!! thank you tweede kammer

p.s. The Paki/Maroc Hash (Hash made from paki plants produced in marocco) very nice dark hash (black). Sometimes the best hash you can get... very mindblownig the Pakmar from the Bluebird was a Paki/Maroc

some marocs are hand made, too. The best qualitys are allways not pressed... but it´s nearly impossible to get some outside of marocco.

nah, then let me tell you this:
the dutch guy we buy our things from told us about this border-hash you`re talking about, it is very widespread. but since a few years there are some dutch guys who are bringing it in from afghanistan and thats why I know you`re not 100% right on this subject. it may be the case in many parts of holland, but there still are some people getting high quality afg from afghanistan. maybe the guys are telling shit, but I wouldnt think so as they are all in their 40s-50s so I would assume they dont have to tell lies like these anymore. and even if I am wrong about this, the afgh. we get here at the german/dutch border is of very good quality

I'm not trying to argue with you guys on this this just stating the things I see...When you buy 5 euro a gram hash you cannot expect to be getting a quality product...The shop is only paying 1 or 2 euros a gram for it...I know because I know people in the industry that deal in larger qantities and have taught me a lot about the trade in holland..

As I posted "there is almost no high quality coming out of Afghanistan...There will always be a connisuer(sp) market and someone to make the product for them but most of the country grows poppies now and they have to stretch the supply of resin very far to attempt to meet demand..This is why there is so much low quality afi availible everywhere for almost nothing...
I promise you 95% of people can tell the difference between that squidgy oiled afi and any piece of high quality moroccan...The easiest way to tell if hash has been oiled is if it stays soft and squidgy at cold temps..I know of no quality hash that is soft at cold temps and that alone should help people know more about what they are smoking....
I do agree that we all have different pallates and preference of highs...So have higher and some lower tolerances...
But I must also say that the hashes I enjoy do not make you wonder if you are high LOL....If you do not KNOW you are RIPPED then I am probably disappointed.....LOL...
If you guys would like to sit down for a smoke and chat I would love to do so over 420...Hell I want to make more friends here not piss ya off...I do understand that things can be taken in a different way than you intentionally intended,,,,thats a fact...I should have a nice stash of diff hashes by the time 420 rolls around and would def meet up for a smoke sess if any of you will be around between the 15th and end of the month.......Take care all.......................................CC
