I stayed there in March 07 and it was very good for the money i paid - clean and fairly high standard / large room for an amsterdam hotel (they are generally nowhere near UK/US standards)

Quite a long way out of town though in a more suburban area - I got totally lost trying to get back after a heavy night out and after the trams had stopped running - walked around in circles until about 4am trying to find it !

I have stayed in this place a couple of times. If you do go for this budget option make sure you don't book in to the annex. It is like a concentration camp!

On my first visit to the hotel i got a real steal on a room over the Christmas period, just under £30 a night, but they put me in one of their 'internal' rooms. My window opened out onto a corridor... So it would have been curtains shut, or asking the whole of the hotel to join you in your room?! I made my way back to reception and asked how much it would be to upgrade to a room with a 'real' window and was moved for free.

The breakfasts are HUGE and are a self service jobby. The only place I have ever come across that offers 'lunch bags' so you can stock up on the food and take it for your lunch too!!!

This hotel is not for everyone. It is way out and I don't mind a good walk. But it is clean and you can get some unreal deals on this hotel...
