Awright bud?

A fellow toon dweller here ;-)

My pal posted back 3 parcels which all arrived over last 2 days, just a polm, temple ball and some charras all squished flat and into 3 cards. Probly not the best idea or the most discreet, but certainly better than customs giving you the once over. *shudder*

ive seen both sides of doing this.

ive seen success, with friends using a cd case in a padded envelope. got about 3 or 4 grams of favourite weed in the case, all very nice and very much appreciated when back home...

however another friend, didnt recieve their package. a similar style paded envelope with 3 or 4 grams. instead two weeks later they recieved a letter from 'Her Majestys Customs', saying they must reply in writing to confirm whether or not they had any knowledge of the parcel and its contents. no reply would result in police investigation. scary stuff. the upside to the story is 2 years later and nothings ever happened, despite my friend never replying. still, this person is concerned about anything showing up each time they go check in at the airport.

another more light hearted story is, yet another friend did the same cd case trick, sent some back to his new flat he was renting. however used the name of the previous tennant on the enevelope, as he was still recieving his post. the previous tennant finally got round to notifying the royal mail, that he had moved and all post addressed to him should be redirected, whilst we were in 'dam. this was really frustrating, but just imaginging the confused look that some middle aged asian man had on his face, as he opened his post one morning over his cereal, to discover 4 grams of the finest bhudda in europe, made us see the funny side

I honestly can't remember, I do have them somewhere if I can find them I'll let you know (there is a picture of one of them on this forum somewhere but I haven't a clue where).

C&E aren't bothered about you sending yourself a few grams, do you think they'll bother to prosecute you for that? Obviously, if they find it, they don't let it go through, and they send you letters like that to scare you. I've had three or four of them and never bothered to reply.

The situation is:

1) They can't prove that you knew anything about any parcel addressed to you.

2) If they send you a letter and you don't reply, how do they prove you got the letter in the first place?

My advice is - if you can afford to lose a few grams, send it home. If it arrives, happy days. If it doesn't, hard lines.

Funny enough with Amsterdam trip looming (4 days- yeeeeaaah!!) this has been the topic of converstaion amongst me and my pals.I have spoken to 3 brothers who are seasoned Dam travellers. They said that pretty much evrytime they've gone ( about 5/6), the eldest one has always attempted to post back. On only 2 of those occasions has it come through. Of those 2, one occasion when he psted back about a Quarter, he noticed the envelope had been selotaped closed, upon opening it he found barely a spliff in there!

They think the deciding factor is the sorting office people. Bare in mind these 3 look pretty dodgy, its obvious they are not from Dam and they stupidly only put it loosly in a small envelope- like a b'day card.I think that it can be easily felt this way. So I think the key is being as inconspicuous as possible. I personally am gonna get my wife to do it for me, and i will do it properly by wrapping it up tight,in smell proof bag and inside a couple of dvd cases. Then off it goes to 2/3 differenct addresses (I got a couple friends with orders helping me out) That way it increases the chance of arriving safely.

I think via post is safest to be honest. Only other time I've brought back before was when went for the first time in 2004. But we did the whole driving thing there and it took us about 8 hours!! On the way back the border people at paris were searching the car just next to us and I was shitting myself! But luckily they were not the slightest bit suspicious and after spinning them a yarn about us staying at a hotel in france we were on our way...easy as pie.

I got 14 different types of grade back....ahhh happy days!!

hoop66 nailed it. as i've already posted on this forum i posted 2 packages back from a-dam in june this year. i took very little precautions (misspelt name, stuck the gear in a soft pencil case before putting it in an envelope), one arrived, one didn't. and the one that didn't arrive had some seriously smelly bud in it.

the main post is, if you don't get greedy you'll be fine. The Man ain't gonna come after you for a quarter of gear for all the reasons stated by hoop66.

peace.
