Will be taking my first trip to the Dam that Thursday during my winter break from school. Would love to get suggestions on what are some of your fav. coffee shops to check out and strains to smoke. Also, wouldn't mind some suggestions on what hostel to stay at and where the best pizza is. Thanks

I have posted you on the December Whos In Town page. There you can see who else may be in town during your visit.
Have a great trip. See my reply to your intro message for a very good link.

Enjoy

Soz m8 just checking.

My personal fav are, Mellow Yellow (good place to chill and relax as its a biggish place, Bud is excellent especially Orange Haze, and Super silver Haze), Katsu (Love the shop, Good bud and if its sunny there is a wicked park about 2 mins away), The Greenhouse shops although i prefer the new one (was Blue Velvet), Barneys Lounge (Find it more chilled and relaxed than the other shop although the weed is expensive, and Blue cheese is my Fav here), For a nice takeaway Bud its off to the Grey area.
To be honest there are alot of quality Cs in the Dam if you have a look through the CS reveiws you will get loads of excellent advice from the users. Worth sitting with a notepad for an hour taking notes it will save you Euros and time in the long run.
and food i am not a lover of Pizza so it has to be good old Wok 2 Walk for me.
Cant help you on the hostel front as i have never stayed in one but many on this site will help there.
Enjoy your trip :D

I've stayed at the Vondelpark hostel a couple of times. Very clean, with a nice bar, but no smoking. But you're in the park.

Amsterdam is unique in that the CS become part of one's personality...I prefer the local shops or the ones less frequented by tourists. You will find a favorite CS while you are there and will visit it each trip...I have been many times to AMS and I still have my fav shops and a list of shops I like to hang out in and that have the best gear...before I joined the forum, I read all of the comments and write-ups posted via the map...I would select the CS, click to read and if they had a good write-up...placed it on my list to visit...but the write-ups are still personality preference driven and you need to go there and select for yourself...however, I use the "Smoker's Guide" to check on new gear and who has it and then that CS or CSs go on my list... enjoy! btw drink plenty of fluids!!
