First trip report - fourth trip Sept 04-Sept 10 now wiv pics

Post by johny18269 »

Hey everyone, This is my first post (apart from my introduction), sorry its took me so long, ive been reading the boards for over a year and a half. Anyway ive explained all this in my intro post, so here's my report:

Background:

6 of us on the trip. 5 smokers(B,C,D,E and Me), 1 space cake only eater (A).
We stayed on Prins Hendrikkade, 5 mins from central station.
This is my fourth trip. First was only in July 07, second was in Jan 08 nd third in Feb 08.

Day 1:

After checking in we all head to the pre-planned first stop; Dampkring II (Pink Floyd). Pre-planned due to past experience of the wide and very good menu and also because it was relatively close and we knew it sold space cakes for A so he didnt have to wait too long before he was stoned as well. This is my first trip since the tobacco ban and since this place had its refurbishment, so i wasn't exactly sure what to expect.
I bought 1g Laughing Buddah €6.50
A- Hash brownie
B- 1g Amnesia Haze €11
C- 1g Ocean's 12 Haze €11
D- 1g Super Silver Haze €10.50
E- 1g G13xLavender €11

Every trip so far ive bought laughing buddah as my first smoke, in jan and feb my favourite smoke of both trips was the LB from the Rokerij. This time though i was shocked to see it at €6.50/g when it was around €10 just over a year ago at the Dampkring I when i bought it as my first ever smoke in the Dam. The gram i got was just one big bud perfectly trimmed. I broke it in half and stuck half in a nice fat joint. Lit that up with a cup of tea (from the very nice barlady that C AND E fell in love with v.quickly). LB was very good value at €6.50 but its strength was quite far from the LB at the Rokerij at the start of the year. A very nice first smoke to ease me in to the trip and take away the memories of awful seasickness the night before on the ferry. Just a point here- i will mainly talk about the weed i bought unless i tried a fair bit of someone elses or there was something special about it. I'll also give you the descriptions of the space cakes A has given me so there's a bit more info about space products as well. The hash brownie was good but very rich and was averagely strong. The amnesia haze was as good as ever from here, very nice tasting, strong high. Also the SSH that D bought was one of the most crystally buds of the trip. Very nice smoke thats slightly cheaper than the top end of the menu. Didnt really get to try the Ocean's 12 this time round but it one of my favourites of past trips.
After some food for my severely empty stomach, we headed to the Green place on the nieuwmarkt in anticipation of their LA Con that i had heard so much about.
So i bought 1g LA Con €13
A- Space Brownie (strength-high, taste- best tasting of trip)
B- 1g LA Con €13
C- 1g Afghaan €7
D- 1g White Widow €8
E- 1g White widow €8

Head to the tobacco area to skin up.I like the tobacco area here, it has a big widescreen tv that you can see even when your sat under it because of a well placed mirror. Anyway, the LA Con is awesome. Full body stoned, very strong but somehow I felt it wasnt quite what i expected it to be. I thought before the trip that this would definitely be in my top three at the end of the trip, so i had built it up a lot. But I was right as it turns out, it didnt make my top 3. However i should say that B really did think the LA Con did live up to the hype and i think it was one of his fav smokes of the trip.

After the Green place we head to Bluebird, just south of the nieuwmarkt, again excited, this time to try their Blue cheese.

Me 1.2g Blue Cheese €12.50
A- 2 slices of choc space cake (very dense, hard to eat, strength med/high)
B- 1.2g Blue Cheese €12.50
C- 1.2g Blue Cheese €12.50

Me and B both bought Blue Cheese due to the recommendations on here, however C only bought his deal after tasting ours. The truth is all 5 of us are in agreement that this is definitely the best tasting strain of the trip. It gets you pretty stoned and is good value. This IS one of my top three strains of the trip. It is, in my opinion, the best tasting weed ive ever had the pleasure to smoke. Probably not the strongest "cheese" of the trip but definitely my (and everyone elses) favourite. Bluebird itself was a really big hit with everyone. Fairly large tobacco area, friendly staff, great chilled music and atmosphere, good value drinks and it helped that it was so close to where we were staying. We stayed there for most of that night smoking that delicious blue cheese.

On the walk back to the apartment we stopped by Stix and me and B shared the offer on 5g Temple Ball for €56.25 and got 2.5g each. Nice tasting peppery smooth smoke, nice clear strong high. Oily, black and pliable, the first joint i had of it that night i rolled a nice long sausage of it and put down the middle of my joint and had to wipe my hands before rolling because they were just to too sticky.

Anyway, thats the first day. But this is taking me ages nd ive got work tomorrow so im gonna have to do this in installments. I'll try and do it as soon as possible. But i got 6 more days to do!

Welcome and thanks for posting. I'm sure there are plenty of people curious about the state of edibles, so that's good to know.

Thanks for Day1 m8!
very much looking forward to the rest especially the added extra of having a non smoking space cake eater with you. :lol: Always good to know where the best cakes are at and if he /she is a non smoker then it should be spot on.
Enjoy :D

Yeah ive used dfds the last 3 three trips. But i dont generally try nd take any "souvenirs" back with me, instead i just smoke the crystals that have built up in my crystal catcher on the boat. Ive always walked by and not been searched but just dont think the risk is worth the amount that would want to be bringing through. Im sure many ppl do make it through and enjoy the reward, but ive had a good, steady supply at home for a while so it just hasnt seemed worth it. Especially as i never have any money left at the end of the holiday anyway.

Day 2:

Outside Central station for 12:00 (i think), to meet a couple of mates whose trip overlapped with ours. We decide on heading down to the leidestraat to go to the Dolphins, mainly for their downstairs tobacco area, so we could sit in comfort for a while and catch up.

I bought 1g White Dolphin €10
B- 1g White Dolphin €10
C- 1g White Dolphin €10
D- 1.2g Northern Lights €10
E- 1.5g Some sort of Thai €10

I consistently buy the white dolphin here, its good smoke at a fair price. I wouldnt say i came here for it tho (ive always visited the dolphins for their downstairs seating area, even before the tobacco ban). They have a fairly limited menu (4 weed/4 hash). However the staff have always been really friendly here and we always end up staying a couple of hours because its so comfortable. Also, a lot of the of the group appreciated he widesceen tv playing films on mute with english subtitles. "The Terminal" was playing on this visit.
After the dolphins it was time for food, we left our two mates and E at there (they were enjoyin the terminal too much and wanted to watch the end). We agreed to meet to meet up again at the Rokerij just off the leidesplein, not far from the dolphins. As i am the only member the group who doesnt like chinese food, i ate alone in mcdonalds while A, B, C and D went to the "wok to walk" opposite, both on the leidestraat.
The Laughing Bouddah from Rokerij, as i think ive previously said, was my favourite smoke of the last two trips, so again i was eager to get there. When we did;

I bought 1g Laughing Bouddah €11
A- Space Muffin €6.50 (Strength- low, Taste- good)
B- 1g Northern Lights 5X Haze €13

Ive always loved the atmosphere and interior in here, along with the very low seating, although some find it uncomfortable. The drinks are slightly more expensive than most coffeeshops ive visited but ive been a big fan of this place and its weed since my second trip in January when i stayed on Vondelstraat near Vondelpark, which isnt very far from the leidesplein at all. On that trip, me and my girlfriend (D) spent a lot of time in here as we found that it had, by far, the best smoke of all the coffeeshops relatively near our hotel. This time round, although the LB was very good and still stronger than the Dampkring's (although there is now a major price difference that shudnt go unnoticed R-€11 D-€6.50) it didnt seem as sweet tasting, more dry, and just generally not on par with previous purchases. Still worth buying though. However, the NL5XHaze that B bought was very strong and uplifting and tasted great. B was very pleased with this purchase and post-trip decided it was definitely one of his best buys. The others had called me while i was skinning up the LB and said that they were at the Rokerij and WE werent there. So we (surprisingly) quickly realised that somehow, rather than walk a very short way down leidestraat nd just off again to Rokerij I, they ended up at either Rokerij III or Rokerij IV (they havent been able to work out which since). So i told them to find the leidesplein nd ring me again when they got there. So after meeting them again finally and leading them back to the rokerij, E bought 1g Silver Shiva for €8 and we sat for a while and had a few drinks.
We said goodbye to our friends, who were going home the next day, and headed back towards central station. We decided to end the night at bluebird but i wanted to stop by Homegrown Fantasy first to pick up what i had heard, might be the strongest cheese strain in the Dam at that time. Unfortunately the female budtender informed me that they didnt have any and although i just stopped by specifically for the cheese as we were moving straight on to bluebird;

I bought 1.2g Trainwreck €10

Was ok smoke, nothing special to report here though. We headed to bluebird and the buying went as follows;

Me- 1.3g Allegria €12.50
B- 0.5g XXX €12.50
C- 1.4g Bluebird Special Hash €12.50
D- 1.2g Blue Cheese €12.50

Everyone seemed very happy with their purchases. I got a nice big fat bud in my Allegria, not too strong though but nice and smooth as i smoked a pure joint of it upstairs while we waited for the tobacco room to empty slightly. When it did we took the corner seats next to the window and sat there for quite a long time watching the street below nd relaxing after quite a bit of walking today, chilled tunes in the background a great place to end the day. C, not a big hash smoker, remarked on how smooth and fresh tasting the Bluebird Special Hash was and having bought some later in the trip myself, i can say i agree and found that it gives a mellow clear high. I should also mention that the drinks here i think were slightly cheaper than most coffeeshops and that they have warm milk on the menu, for anyone other than me who likes a glass of warm milk with a spliff. The only other ive found is Abraxas. Anyway thats the end of day 2. Should be able to add more tomorrow night. Sorry this is taking so long ppl, had a lot of work on, but it will definitely be finished by the weekend at the latest.
