How'd you guess???? :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Kicking around some days already, nothing in stone, but here's a couple dates we like... 4-17-09 through 4-27-09.....or arrive and leave 4 days earlier. Or arrive on the 19th and stay until after Queen's Day. We'll see, one things for sure.... The wife and I will be there on 4-20-09. :wink: :)

Thanks very much everyone for all the positive feedback. Like i say, this is the first time ive done this, so im pleased people are getting something out of it. Oh yeah, i forgot to mention this, A is a BIG coffee fan and after his first trip to the Dam eating only spacecakes, when he did struggle with staying awake A LOT, he decided to bring his coffee machine with him this time allowing him to drink multiple espressos in the apartment as frequently as he wants, on top of the numerous double espressos he buys in each coffeeshop. Total caffeine addict. Saying that, he did still take the most naps of everyone this trip. To be fair though, the only experience of being stoned he has had since that last trip, was a few batches of homemade spacecakes with him being a non-smoker. However, this does mean that he is at least used to the effects of eating cannabis rather than smoking it and i feel he stayed awake much longer than i would have eating that many cakes on various days.

Day 3:

This was the mushroom day of our trip. We headed out to Conscious Dreams at the top of Warmoesstraat. I decided to get the Philosophers stones after having tried the Mexicans twice on previous trips. B (a much more experienced hallucinogens user) also got Philosophers stones, C,D and E all got he Mexicans as C and E had never tried shrooms before and D wanted the same experience she had her first time with the mexicans. A bought some skullcap, a herbal relaxant that you drink as a tea. A couple of people also had to pick up smoke for the day (to be spent in our apartment), although most of us had enough still to see us through.

B- 1g Nevilles Haze €12.50 from 420 cafe (de kuil)

C- 1g White Smurf €7 from Softland

We were at the Albert Heijn just off Dam square, buying pasta to mix the mushrooms in with, when C asked me if there was anywhere close that he could get a cheap gram of something good value. Instantly the white smurf at Softland came to mind. This is the first trip that i have not spent any time in Softland, but i have always enjoyed this strain here in the past.

Everyone enjoyed the mushrooms, lots of uncontrollable laughing for most and deep thinking on the part of B who took a much higher dose of the Philosophers Stones than me (he ate almost the full box, about double what i had.) A went for a "nap" not long after after drinking his skullcap tea, which proceeded to last for the entire length of our trip (about 6 hours). However, when he rose and everyone apart from B was feeling the shrooms wearing off, some of us decided to go out for a couple of hours and hit a couple more coffeeshops before they closed. We decided on heading to the Dampkring II

I bought 1g Mexican Haze €13
and 1g Laughing Buddah €6.50
A- Weed Muffin (Strength- Average, taste- average)
C- 1g Special Skunk €7
E- 1g Tasman Haze €11

The LB this time wasn't one big nice bud but still was just about as good as last time and definitely more than worth the price tag. The Mexican haze i got however, was probably the most disappointing deal i got on the trip. This was in no way because of the strength or flavour of the weed, but because the gram i got consisted of quite a lot of bare stalks and little actual bud. Had i realised this before leaving the counter and finding a seat upstairs i would have questioned it, but it was still busy even though it was nearly midnight (due to it being saturday, i think) and i really just couldnt be bothered going back downstairs, now exhausted in the wake of the mushroom trip. So i let it pass by, as this was the first bad deal ive ever had there and put it down to them running low, late on a saturday night. What i did have of it though seemed very strong and may have justified it being at the top of their menu, if id had a full gram. But with little of it to smoke, and not wanting to buy any more, i feel unable to judge it fairly. Not staying there long, we decided to go to Homegrown Fantasy, i was again hoping they would have the cheese in, again they didnt.

E- 1g Nepal Creme €10

We took our drinks and sat at a table outside smoking that Nepal Creme. I liked the rich kinda heavy taste and found (later, persuading E to sell half to me :wink: ) quite a heavy physical stonedness but my mental alertness didnt suffer. It was like my body just couldnt keep up, i knew what i wanted to say and do, there was still just this delay. Definitely recommended. Anyway, we stayed until they closed and headed back to the apartment to find B and D watching "American Dad", B having finished tripping an hour or so before. After catching up on how everyone enjoyed the day it was time for sleep.
Day 4 to follow shortly.

Day 4:

We wanted to head down to Vondelpark or to Haarlem today, but the weather was crap so we decided to just stay in the centre and do the other things the next two days when the weather was supposed to be better.
First stop was Prix d'ami, just off the top of the Damrak. After asking to try their top of the menu Black Widow Haze and being informed they were out of it;

I bought 1g Cheese €11
A- 2 Space Brownies (Tasted average but had absolutely no effect at all. A decided these were the worst cakes of the trip)
B- 1g Mako Haze €12
C- 1g Fisherman's Friend €7.50
D- 1g Cheese €11

The cheese i bought was very average. The strength was about the same as the Blue Cheese from Bluebird, but the taste was not in the same league. A bland cheese example here in my opinion, my least favourite cheese of the trip. Still a decent smoke, but just not special like a lot of cheese strains seem to be. The Mako Haze B bought was very disappointing. A nice looking bud but did not live up to the price on the basis of strength, leaving B comparing it to the strength of the €6.50 LB from the Dampkring II. Also the taste was harsh and "cleaning fluid" like, which B wasnt keen on. After a couple of rounds of joints and some pool upstairs, we head to Bluebird.

I Bought 1.5g Sage and Sour Diesel €12.50
And 1.4g Bluebird Special Hash €12.50
B- 2.4g Blue Cheese €25

The Blue cheese and BSH I have already reviewed and liked very much. When I asked the budtender for something as unusual as the Blue Cheese he recommended the Sage and Sour Diesel. I went for it, although not normally a fan of the diesel strains ive tried in the past. The taste was a bit different, only slightly sage-y, but nothing like the uniqueness of the Blue Cheese. Got me reasonably stoned, was worth trying once and value for money but probably wouldn’t buy it again. Not with Blue Cheese still on the menu anyway.

After staying there for a while we headed back to the apartment for food, naps for a couple of people and in the hope the weather might be a bit better later. By the time we had eaten, changed into some dryer clothes and had a few joints, the rain had stopped and we headed out on the walk down to the Dolphins fairly refreshed. On the way, me and B stopped at the Dampkring I just to pick up;

I bought 1g Hash Plant €8
B- 1g Rifman Noor €14

I wanted a reasonably priced indica and was drawn towards the Hash Plant and Hash Heaven both at €8 each. After asking to see both, and unable to feel any preference of one over the other, the budtender told me the Hash Plant was quite a bit better at the moment and so I went with that. I have to say I was very pleased with this purchase. Nice tight crystally buds, with a different kind of taste, kinda like when you top a weed joint off with the Grey Crystals from Grey Area. I was also really impressed with the strength for the price, fairly heavy but manageable stoned feeling. I could smoke this weed very regularly and not get bored of it. A very good value buy from the Dampkring menu, making up slightly for the Mexican Haze deal I got at the Dampkring II the night before.
B was also very pleased with his first try of a Rifman Hash. I tried the Dunya on a previous trip (I forget which) and was very impressed with it and recommended he try a Rifman on this trip. The Noor had B very heavily stoned and very pleased again with his purchase. The Rifman Hashes seem like a safe buy for top quality, tasty smoke, and the fact that they sold at the Dampkring and Rokerij chains means you can easily get some nearby, whenever you’re in the centre of the Dam.
Anyway, after picking those up, we carried on to the Dolphins to sit and chill downstairs for a good few hours.

A- Space Muffin (Tasted bad, incompatible different flavours of the top and bottom of the cake caused A to eat only 2/3 of the muffin. The strength was poor, but may partly be due to not finishing it)
C- 1.5g Some sorta Thai €10
E- 1g White Dolphin €10

E enjoyed his White Dolphin, finding it smooth to smoke and causing a zoned out, strong high. Perfect for him to sit and watch Rocky Balboa on the TV with subtitles.
We head to the Green Place for the last stop of the night;

I bought 1g Amnesia Haze €12
A-A few choc spacecakes (some for the following morning)
B- 1g LA Con €13

With B opting for another gram of the LA Con, I thought id purchase my first Amnesia haze of the trip here. The bud was beautifully conical and dusted with crystal, looking just like a mini xmas tree. Lovely sweet but dry taste and strong high, I never seem to find a bad example of Amnesia Haze wherever I go, is this just me being lucky or is this just one of the most consistently strong, tasty, value for money strains on any menu? Any opinions anyone has on this, I’d like to hear. But that’s the 4th day done. Shud have the 5th up tomorrow. Hope everyone’s still enjoying it.

Another fine write up johny18269.....with lots of friends with you, it's good to see lots of different purchases. I also see space cakes haven't changed, pretty much fair to poor.
