Howdo my fellow Dam Fans!

Post by bigbuds »

Hi Guys!

Been a lurker here for literally 7 or 8 years, but never got round to posting, mainly because all my questions had already been answered and i didnt need an account. But I thought that some thanks were in order, and in general it would be nice to say Hi and talk about my upcoming trip.

Im 27 (whathowthehelldidthathappen!), live in the north of england (rotherham), and have smoked since I was 15. Ive smoked bud since being 19ish and its a passion of mine, something that I really dont ever want to stop.

Anyway, Ive been to dam twice before, first time on one of those awful 3 night cruise trips, 12 hours getting drunk on a ferry, throwing up over walls and corridors and trying to avoid the drunken violent germans, 7 hours in town, then another hellish 12 hour journey home. Second time was perfect. We rented a villa in utrecht for a week, and would bomb into town on the train, accumulate a sizeable stash, visit a few coffeeshops and then go back our little place with our motor boat and volleyball island :D

But that was 4 years ago. Due to life, we havent been able to get back. Then last year we were planning to go, and lo and behold someone drove into me and smashed my knee to pieces, needless to say the trip was on hold. Laying in my bed unable to function (get the violins then dude) I thought..."Im booking a trip for next year, something to focus on" and did it.

Now Im pretty much healed, and me and my girlfriend fly on the 1st of oct! Were staying at The Greenhouse Effect, as that was our first ever stop back in 2000, and its pretty cheap really compared to other hotels with ensuite and breakfast. Plus you just cant beat staying on top of a coffeeshop, having access to all the produce at all times.

On a related note, I knew about the GHE bar discount for hotel patrons, but didnt realise they offer a bud bar discount too, anyone know if this is right? I was reading a recent trip report and it seemed that way.

So Ive made my list of shops to visit, and strains to try, and it cant come soon enough.

Id really like to say thankyou so much to the site and the posters and webmaster for all the hard work and great info. There isnt a better resource IMO, certainly not one with the level of community, friendlyness and expertise as you find here. Youve made our Dam trips succesful, and have already helped plan this visit, so many many thanks.

I will try and be an active member of the community, and will post some trip reports on our return, so look out for those. Thanks again for everyones input, heres to you guys!

Put it in the air!

Matt

Hope you have a good one man!
