Members of the EU can live and work in Holland without any qualifications/skills.Ash333 wrote:European Passport, or be VERY highly skilled. European Passport, OR be VERY highly skilled.
No Victim? No Crime.
I know but your post is making out that unless you have a skill you have little chance and what about the bollocks regarding working in a coffeeshop, where does being married to a local or be at the Uni come into working in a cafe?Ash333 wrote:THATS WHAT I SAID.Boner wrote:Members of the EU can live and work in Holland without any qualifications/skills.Ash333 wrote: European Passport, or be VERY highly skilled. European Passport, OR be VERY highly skilled.
Edit: as far as the highly skilled jobs are concerned unless you work for an English speaking company you wont get anywhere unless you can speak dutch, the same going for a lot of the work, the only thing non-dutch speakers will be able to do are the tourist side of things like work in a coffeeshop/bar/hotel.
Boner, Non europeans do not have the right to work in NL unless they are married to a european or have a student visa or are highly skilled.Boner wrote:I know but your post is making out that unless you have a skill you have little chance and what about the bollocks regarding working in a coffeeshop, where does being married to a local or be at the Uni come into working in a cafe?Ash333 wrote:THATS WHAT I SAID.Boner wrote: Members of the EU can live and work in Holland without any qualifications/skills.

So, if you are say Brazillian for arguments sake you need a work visa to work anywhere in the NL. This could be from marriage to a european, a student visa (part time only) or being highly skilled.
No Victim? No Crime.

Good or Bad idea?
M8 stay on get a good qualification in a required job sector to work in the netherlands, and learn to speak dutch.
Then your dream could become reality might take a bit of time so you can have many a holiday until the time comes.
Any1 want to add any more criteria?
And if your not an EU resident its a pain in the arse (Cheers 4 that boner)
Nice1
Hope your question has been answered SourDloveR

Kermit asked the question, he's from England so I was answering him, if I was from outside the EU I wouldn't bother as it's a lot of heart-ache and expense.Ash333 wrote:Boner, Non europeans do not have the right to work in NL unless they are married to a european or have a student visa or are highly skilled.Boner wrote:I know but your post is making out that unless you have a skill you have little chance and what about the bollocks regarding working in a coffeeshop, where does being married to a local or be at the Uni come into working in a cafe?Ash333 wrote: THATS WHAT I SAID.

Prolly should tell ya I didn't read the rules? Life aint perfect you don't know what Ive gone through so don't tell me what to do with my life I just asked a simple question about living there and you wanna bring other shit up?DC wrote:Yup, you've got me there....but sitting here, on top of a bar in the heart of Amsterdam, where I call home....I can't help but wonder what my life would've actually been like if I'd have lived it a little more dangerously.bennybacker wrote:

I understand about freedom of movement in the EU but was wondering if the Netherlands had specific criteria for any1 wishing to work and live as a resident in their country. Which i now know is sack all for europeans.Ash333 wrote:Fair enough Boner. I thought it was fairly widely understood that the EU allows the free movement of labour and goods.
I thought you would at least have to go through some procedure but from whats been said you dont.
Thanks for the input it has been noted
