Class report mate.
For an old timer like me, going back to the Dam for the first time in years, your info is going to be sooooooo helpful.

Hey Oogy, nice post! Glad to see you had a great trip (and good to see fellow lovers of the solid!)...

Interesting point about the Rifman...yeah, it's quite good BUT rarely is it my favorite of the trip. But the Pakistani-plant thing - I'm busting my ass trying to find the reference in Clarke's book (no luck) but I could SWEAR there was a breakdown on when the Moroccan hash makers started growing Afghani/Pakistani plants (I think because they grow quicker & 'stronger' a la indica) so I thought that much of the Moroccan hash was of Pakistani seed (grown in Morocco). Now I KNOW there's a coffeeshop menu I saw that broke down the Moroccan hash by plant source: moroccan and pakistani.

NEVER been to Boerejongens before, think I'll have to give it a try!

Hey! Thanks for your comments! Interesting bout the Hash. Never been to that shop either or even heard about it! Might stop by next time and check out their Tbizla.

Oh, and what book are you referring to in your above post?

Peace!

The book?

HASHISH!
Robert Connell Clarke
Red Eye Press
1998

GREAT book with THE most detailed hasj history available anywhere (I imagine). Funny, it ends in '98 during the sad state of hashish affairs referencing just how mediocre the Moroccan hash was at the time and how the black hashes have had their better days. Besides that I ADORE the book and took it with us on our Feb '08 trip (even though it's bulky as hell!).

I agree with hasjDreamer. Hashish! is an excellent book.

There is another terrific book about hash; it's called The Great Books of Hashish by Laurence Cherniak. There are 4 books in the series but 3 & 4 are just compilations of the first two. The pictures in this book are nothing short of awesome. The books are pretty expensive but worth it imo. Peace n Love.

I hear ya Puffin - it took me a good year to track down THE GREAT BOOKS OF HASHISH, volume 1 (the only necessary volume) and I wound up finding a copy in Amsterdam during the '90's and it's FANTASTIC! I used to hide the book until we booked a trip - it was too difficult to look at all those wonderful hasj shots unable to smoke ANY of it!

Oh yeah, my quote at the bottom comes from Cherniak!

Salut! Ouais, j'y etait deja!
