September 4 - 8th smoke report

Hey all! New to the board (see introduction section) and already fresh with a trip report. You might have seen it already on another, smaller board bout the dam.
Anyhow, here's my smoke report! Will be back in town this friday so will have more to say then too!
I'm not one to right long extensive diary like reports commenting my every step in the dam (sorry guys, don't have the memory or patience to do all that!) so i'll only talk about the smoke! Also, I won’t mention EVERY weed we smoke, but only the best and sometimes mention others to help compare same strains in different shops. Bare with me!
First stop of the trip:
Grey Area.
This c/s was the best of my February trip by far and the big buddah cheese the best smoke so I had to immediately go back and check out their gear. BBC was in stock, so was the silver bubble and the chocolope. Asked to see all 3. Dealer didn’t advise the chocolope once I said that the batch in feb was bad. Said it was the same. Claimed the BBC was better though, which got me excited bout that purchase. Checked out the rest of their top priced bud. Dregs… strange, was only 1:30…. So wondered bout the OG Kush, especially since I rarely see cali bud in the dam. Didn’t smell or look like any Kush I smoked. Dealer agreed and claimed DNA is only experimenting with Kush for the moment. So I didn’t bother. Only 2 purchases here…
I immediately skin up the BBC on the bench next to the shop by the Singel. The stuff looked and smelled amazing! I light the j, and…. Arf… what the hell? Stuff wasn’t ready to smoke AT ALL! Tasted waaaaaay too fresh and grassy. I was pissed…. Rolled the silver bubble next. That was lovely though, great taste and great high, managed to help me forget bout the BBC for a while.
I returned to Grey Area the next day and found another dealer whom I had previously met. To my astonishment he remembered me and welcomed me back. I told him bout the bbc and he was pissed the other dealer didn’t mention the batch wasn’t good. So I got a great discount on my 4,7g’s composed of 2 silver bubble nuggets! That kind of made up for the BBC! However, nothing else on the menu was worth a buy!!! Incredible… really was disappointed… will be back on the 26th, will check out again….
Hunters:
The Amnesia Haze in stock was AMAZING the best haze of the trip by far. Parts of the bud were completely white from all the crystals! That weed had me laughing my butt off. Really a fun smoke for me. However, some friends of mine who arrived the next day had this as their first smoke and wound up napping for 3 hours…. Unfortunately that batch didn't last too long, was done on the 7th and looked weird on the 8th... The dealer pointed out that more would be in stock from the same mother plant soon, so have a peak at that. Definitely the best of the amnesias I saw this trip (also tied barney’s and amnesia’s).
The Cheese from hunters was one of best of the trip. Much prettier and stickier than dampkring's. Taste was lovely, nice tight buds (i'm staring at one of my remaining cheese souvenirs as i type this). Lovely bright color. Stone is strong. Overall it doesn’t meet the BBC smoked @ grey area in february but is still heavenly imo and waaaaaaaay better than the current BBC at grey area (incomparable actually)...
Burmese Kush. Yes, BuKu in the dam, first time for me and what great timing! I didn't expect much as i had checked out the OG kush at grey area and it was bs. I didn’t get this on my first stop at hunters, but on the last two as the amnesia haze was out. And boy was I glad! The buds were huge and sooo crystallized! Dealer claimed to be smoking that at the moment and offered to try his j. Needless to say I was seduced! The taste and hit was really amazing! The high isn’t as strong as the amnesia, but the indica this strain is crossed with really helps add punch to this weed. Did I say that the buds were really massive?!
Bubblegum: I usually don’t go for cheaper weeds in the dam but when the dealer presented me a beautiful 25g bud of this stash I was on my ass. The stuff smelled sooo sweeeeet! And at 8€/g was quite a bargain. Plus, the dealer (who remembered me from previous trips) saw I was smoking heavily and smoking some crazy gear so he wouldn’t have offered if it were bad. I was impressed. Had only had bubblegum in the states and this was easily as delicious. Stone was pretty heavy too, not the perfect wake and bake smoke!
The Green Place:
THE BEST SHOP OF THE TRIP FOR WEED!
I must note that I had never been to this shop in the past. It’s not really my style to try out too many places in the dam as I like to stick with sure gear, but I had read a lot about this place prior to this trip so decided to stop by, not expecting much. Boy was in for a surprise….
Where to start? Soooo much amazing gear here….
Ok, let’s start with the BOMBS:
Blue Cheese: This seems to be quite popular these days, barney had some in stock and so did bluebird, as they usually do. To start off, I’ll just say had both of those before stopping at the green place (I had actually just stopped at bluebird before arriving at the GP) and both were really nice with a preference for blue birds. However incredible they tasted, neither packed the punch of the stash from green place.
So Blue Cheese from Green Place! This was the best smoke of the trip. The smell of blueberry is just so strong, everyone I met on this trip I had to show. And they immediately went to buy. Dealer gave me special mentions on my last day but that’s another story…. My whole life I’ve rarely smoked something so pleasurable, the taste is really impeccable, you really do taste the blueberry through the rotten cheese flavour! Really sick stuff. And the effects are really strong. A few joints of this had me locked in my chair people watching and tripping for hours. Really a cool experience.
LA Con: Wooooow! Really! Got it at the same time as the Blue Cheese. Buds where big (got a 3,1g bud). The taste was impressive and one of my favourite of the trip as it was really special: felt like hitting a vaporizer but much stronger. You know how you really taste the bud smoking through a vaporizer yet you don’t feel much going through your throat (I hate that btw)? Well smoking a cone of this has the same taste but waaaaay more powerful. And the stone…. What can I say? The strongest indica of the trip, stronger than any cheese or blue cheese. I have major back pains due to a malformation on my spine, and the LA Con cleared that from the first toke. BTW, let me roll one of my last “souvenir” spliffs of the LA before I continue….
Anyways, though they are both indicas, the effects of the LA Con and Blue Cheese feel different (have smoked both here at home in condition and do note a difference in effect). The LA con is much more couch locking and the blue cheese more trippy (but incomparable to amnesia from hunters). Before watching a movie: blue cheese, before sleeping: LA! (wake and bake would be amnesia form hunters!)
Next at Green Place:
Super Super Super Silver Haze: one of the 2 best SSH of the trip along with greenhouse’s! By far the most crystally though. Taste was unfortunately weaker than the silver bubble, but the effect was stronger. Unfortunately this batch was only available that day but if you like the SSH try the one at greenhouse. I usually don’t go to that c/s anymore but decided to check out the ssh and wasn’t disappointed. Tasted better than the one from green place, but not as crystally. Only stronger haze than the green places SSSSH was the Amnesia from Hunters. Now that I think about it the silver bubble from grey area really did mess me up too…! Arf!
Anyways…. More from green place:
Lemon Skunk. Another wow! Lol, it’s getting repetitive, I know…. But I had this stuff at the grey area in feb and thus hesitated to getting it this time a round at the green place. However, one whiff of the box had me conquered. Damn! This stuff smells more like lemon than did the blue cheese of blueberry! And that stuff stunk of blueberry! Yet another top bud from the Green Place.
Ok I’ll just stick with that, getting tired here (LA Con dong its work). The rest of the gear on the menu was good too. What did we have… uhhh, cheese was nice, uhhh….. Honestly, I didn’t have one bad weed here. And no, I don’t have shares in that shop (or friends either!).
Only bad news: they ran out of the Blue Cheese… I took the last 4 grams on my last morning and the bud tender said with a tear rolling down his cheek that the stash was officially done… So I don’t know what their status on Blue cheese is now… Anyways, you can get it at Bluebird too. It is very good too, though I didn’t find it quite as strong as the Green Place’s batch. But go get the LA Con, lemon skunk and check out the menu!
Pink Floyd/ Dampkring:
This was my favourite shop for hash but I’ll start with the bud:
NYC Diesel: a regular must buy for me on every trip. Just loooove that taste. Of course, if you’re only focused on effect, get the Mexican haze!
Mexican Haze: Amazing sativa! Really crystally stuff! Such a lovely taste, I preferred this to the SSH from green house too. Effect was strong, but not as strong as their SSH imo.
SSH: the dealer swore by it, it was excellent, but the one at greenhouse tasted nicer and the one from green place just got me too high….
Now for the Hash:
Super Tbizla & 50€ Waterworks!
The Tbizla is one of the only REAL morrocan hashes in the dam, and it is really sublime. As I get really good hash at cheap prices here in paris, it’s hard for me to consider rifmans stuff good morrocan hash… And, to my surprise, neither do the guys at the Dampkring!
To make a long story short, I spent lots of time here so wound up talking a lot with one of the dealers who is particularly fond of hash as I am. So I decided to ask him a question that had always been bothering me:
Why does the hash I get in france get’s me way more stoned than rifmans BS? And Why is Tbizla cheaper than rifman whereas it’s much stronger (try and see) and tastes better (imo)? He then explained to me that first of all rifman hash isn’t real morrocan hash. It’s afghan plants grown and pressed in morocco. The focus is the taste as it’s a marketing product and most people who will smoke it will still get high as it’s still better than most local hash’s (I then learned a lot about british soapbar.. uuurrrgh). He then said that people usually prefer black hash’s to morrocan hash’s because of the taste and that the effects were more mellow but that black hash’s were more expensive. So what rifman is doing is using the same seeds they use to make afghani and Nepal but in morocco so as to get that taste in his hash’s. However they aren’t as strong in effect as regular morrocan hash.
Back to the Tbizla, he confirmed that I enjoyed the taste so much because it was morrocan plants and resembles more what I smoke in paris. The taste is sooooo spicy it’s incredible.
From there, I then asked the same dealer bout their 17€/g Nepal hash. He said it was a really nice smoke but that I should only get it to wake and bake. That it wouldn’t get me high after the tbizla and ice o lators.
To me, hearing this from his mouth was a relief as I never understood how those expensive import hash’s didn’t mess me up as much as my “local” marrocs here in paris.
Finally, I inquired about the “polms” or “pollen” (in france we call it pollen). In paris we aren’t particularly fond of this type of morrocan hash as the taste and effect are less present. Yet, the dutch smoke lot’s of it. The dealer then explained that up to about 15 years ago, and still today in some shops, polms used to cost about 2€/g and was the cheapest hash around and thus what was mainly smoked by locals. He also agreed that today he would rarely touch polms. More relief for me who always felt like polm was rip off.
Anyways, I’m now officially lost in this report…..
So, Super Tbizla, by far the best import of the trip. Other import hash’s this trip include:
Nepal Temple balls from STIX: the only black hash I buy now. Not too strong but very enjoyable morning smoke. However, I must admit I put 5 “strings” of it in my j. Consistent hash.
Honey Hash from Mellow Yellow: was my 2nd favourite marroc last trip (after the tbizla ofcourse). Still very nice and very cheap (imo better than the rifmans witch are 4€ more).
King Hassan from Mellow Yellow: really nice at 12€/g. although it does have a slight polm texture to it, the stash I had was quite greasy.
Morrocan Ice from KATSU: great value for 10€/g, stronger than the honey hash from MY, practically as strong as the tbizla but a bit more psychedelic. Seems like this is from Pakistani plants… Went back for more a couple times. Plus really enjoy the local vibe their. Sat their while waiting for my friend to finish touring the vondelpark with his gf and had a great chat with too dutch ladies old enough to be my mom. Really nice women, really made me feel welcome (is my 20+ trip to the dam though…)
Rifman hash’s: my friend wound up trying them all out (all the 14€ from dampkring). They were all nice, but nothing honestly wowed me… Maybe the sheherazad for its taste, and noor for the combination taste/high, but I didn’t get any myself, even after tasting them I preferred by far getting the tbizla, and so did my friend towards the end.
Otherwise, I bought regularly bought my dose of Ice hash everyday:
Soooo…. had the 50€ waterworks from dampkring as I had started saying before interrupting myself in a speech and analysis about import hash! Def the strongest Ice hash of my trip. Plus the taste was DELICIOUS! Sooo flowery!
To compare, I also got the Violator & Rubble from Barneys. Both were great, but I found hat the violator wasn’t worth the extra 15€ it costs compared to the moonshine. So wound up sticking with the moonshine for my ice hash of the trip.
Oh yes, how could I forget, I also got the crystal clear from Katsu a couple times. Probably one of the best value ice hash’s out there! Very strong and tasty but not as good as the expensive gear at barneys or dampkring. Worth the 10€ for 0,4g’s though, makes a great joint!
Wow, I thought this was gonna be short and quick….. And I don’t think I’m done yet….. Let me roll up another one while I try and remember.
Oh yes!!!
Another AMAZING weed: Pot of Gold from Mellow Yellow. Wow, I was really impressed. Especially that last trip, their star weed (what was it again??) disappointed me after I had read crazy reviews of it… This sativa was way up their, with SSSH, Amnesia, and the silver bubble. Another top smoke.
Other c/s, weeds my friend got:
Barneys: I only got ice hash, but my friend got the crimea blue and blue cheese. They were both good but nothing special or to rebuy imo….
Bluebird: I got the blue cheese as mentioned previously which was great. I’ll probably get it there when I’m back in ten days if green place is still out. My friend got quite a few black hash’s. took a few puffs here and there. Nothing impressed me though the stuff wasn’t bad. I still prefer the temple ball at stix for black gear.
Amnesia: only got the amnesia haze. Really proper stuff. Not as strong as hunters stash though but definitely worth a check, especially as batches seem to frequently change.
Uhhh… also went to rokerij, my friend got gear, don’t remember, said it was great. For the first time I didn’t get anything here, I mean, I always already soo happy with the weeds I had so I preferred making repeat buys rather than being adventurous. Note though that I did always check out the buds and if something seemed sick, I’d buy it.
Hmmm, yes, dutch flowers too. The Tibetan hash is actually quite nice. And I’ve always been treated well here.
Oh yeah, how could I forget the Trainwreck from Green Place! Damn! Love that coffeeshop….
Let me think of what was bad (not much considering I didn’t take too many risks)…. BBC at Grey area. Well, everything at grey area but silver bubble. I’m really sorry to say this… But prior to this trip GA was my favourite shop. Heck it was my first stop of the trip… I haven’t at all given up on it, just noting that this time round their gear wasn’t top notch. Hunters, Dampkring, and Green Place had by far better gear. BY FAAAAAAAR! But once again, I’ll be back in the dam on the 26th and will be immediately heading to the GA upon arrival (well, maybe I’ll stop at dampkring first as it’s close to central and on the way to GA!).
Regarding the smoking ban: NOT ONE PROBLEM: I smoked hash joints EVERYWHERE, no one said anything. I never asked either, was just discreet, never left cigarette butts or cigarette paper on the table or ashtray, all in my pocket and was fine, everywhere.
There! Didn’t think I would have so much to say! I’m sure I’m forgetting loads but whatever, this was the good stuff!
To sum up the gear, in no particular order here is my base list for my Sept 26 trip: Of course, I will be opening and checking out waaaay more boxes!
Weed:
Green Place: everything! Especially LA Con, Blue Cheese, (Lemon Skunk and SSSH if the batches look as nice).
Dampkring: Mexican Haze,
Hunters: Amnesia Haze, (Burmese Kush if the buds are as nice), Cheese
Grey Area: Silver Bubble
Mellow Yellow/ Noon: Pot of Gold
(Greenhouse: SSH, if the batch is good, otherwise run outta here)
And just a quick note on SSH: IMO, it is excellent haze, however, to me it’s not the best tasting haze, really prefer Amnesia, Silver Bubble, Mexican, and Pot of Gold. And regarding the effect, although the SSSH from Green Place was really strong, the others were no match to Amnesia or the others hazes I just mentioned.

Back to the Tbizla, he confirmed that I enjoyed the taste so much because it was morrocan plants and resembles more what I smoke in paris. The taste is sooooo spicy it’s incredible.
From there, I then asked the same dealer bout their 17€/g Nepal hash. He said it was a really nice smoke but that I should only get it to wake and bake. That it wouldn’t get me high after the tbizla and ice o lators.
To me, hearing this from his mouth was a relief as I never understood how those expensive import hash’s didn’t mess me up as much as my “local” marrocs here in paris.
Finally, I inquired about the “polms” or “pollen” (in france we call it pollen). In paris we aren’t particularly fond of this type of morrocan hash as the taste and effect are less present. Yet, the dutch smoke lot’s of it. The dealer then explained that up to about 15 years ago, and still today in some shops, polms used to cost about 2€/g and was the cheapest hash around and thus what was mainly smoked by locals. He also agreed that today he would rarely touch polms. More relief for me who always felt like polm was rip off.
Anyways, I’m now officially lost in this report…..
So, Super Tbizla, by far the best import of the trip. Other import hash’s this trip include:
Nepal Temple balls from STIX: the only black hash I buy now. Not too strong but very enjoyable morning smoke. However, I must admit I put 5 “strings” of it in my j. Consistent hash.
Honey Hash from Mellow Yellow: was my 2nd favourite marroc last trip (after the tbizla ofcourse). Still very nice and very cheap (imo better than the rifmans witch are 4€ more).
King Hassan from Mellow Yellow: really nice at 12€/g. although it does have a slight polm texture to it, the stash I had was quite greasy.
Morrocan Ice from KATSU: great value for 10€/g, stronger than the honey hash from MY, practically as strong as the tbizla but a bit more psychedelic. Seems like this is from Pakistani plants… Went back for more a couple times. Plus really enjoy the local vibe their. Sat their while waiting for my friend to finish touring the vondelpark with his gf and had a great chat with too dutch ladies old enough to be my mom. Really nice women, really made me feel welcome (is my 20+ trip to the dam though…)
Rifman hash’s: my friend wound up trying them all out (all the 14€ from dampkring). They were all nice, but nothing honestly wowed me… Maybe the sheherazad for its taste, and noor for the combination taste/high, but I didn’t get any myself, even after tasting them I preferred by far getting the tbizla, and so did my friend towards the end.
Otherwise, I bought regularly bought my dose of Ice hash everyday:
Soooo…. had the 50€ waterworks from dampkring as I had started saying before interrupting myself in a speech and analysis about import hash! Def the strongest Ice hash of my trip. Plus the taste was DELICIOUS! Sooo flowery!
To compare, I also got the Violator & Rubble from Barneys. Both were great, but I found hat the violator wasn’t worth the extra 15€ it costs compared to the moonshine. So wound up sticking with the moonshine for my ice hash of the trip.
Oh yes, how could I forget, I also got the crystal clear from Katsu a couple times. Probably one of the best value ice hash’s out there! Very strong and tasty but not as good as the expensive gear at barneys or dampkring. Worth the 10€ for 0,4g’s though, makes a great joint!

Another AMAZING weed: Pot of Gold from Mellow Yellow. Wow, I was really impressed. Especially that last trip, their star weed (what was it again??) disappointed me after I had read crazy reviews of it… This sativa was way up their, with SSSH, Amnesia, and the silver bubble. Another top smoke.
Other c/s, weeds my friend got:
Barneys: I only got ice hash, but my friend got the crimea blue and blue cheese. They were both good but nothing special or to rebuy imo….
Bluebird: I got the blue cheese as mentioned previously which was great. I’ll probably get it there when I’m back in ten days if green place is still out. My friend got quite a few black hash’s. took a few puffs here and there. Nothing impressed me though the stuff wasn’t bad. I still prefer the temple ball at stix for black gear.
Amnesia: only got the amnesia haze. Really proper stuff. Not as strong as hunters stash though but definitely worth a check, especially as batches seem to frequently change.
Uhhh… also went to rokerij, my friend got gear, don’t remember, said it was great. For the first time I didn’t get anything here, I mean, I always already soo happy with the weeds I had so I preferred making repeat buys rather than being adventurous. Note though that I did always check out the buds and if something seemed sick, I’d buy it.
Hmmm, yes, dutch flowers too. The Tibetan hash is actually quite nice. And I’ve always been treated well here.
Oh yeah, how could I forget the Trainwreck from Green Place! Damn! Love that coffeeshop….
Let me think of what was bad (not much considering I didn’t take too many risks)…. BBC at Grey area. Well, everything at grey area but silver bubble. I’m really sorry to say this… But prior to this trip GA was my favourite shop. Heck it was my first stop of the trip… I haven’t at all given up on it, just noting that this time round their gear wasn’t top notch. Hunters, Dampkring, and Green Place had by far better gear. BY FAAAAAAAR! But once again, I’ll be back in the dam on the 26th and will be immediately heading to the GA upon arrival (well, maybe I’ll stop at dampkring first as it’s close to central and on the way to GA!).
Regarding the smoking ban: NOT ONE PROBLEM: I smoked hash joints EVERYWHERE, no one said anything. I never asked either, was just discreet, never left cigarette butts or cigarette paper on the table or ashtray, all in my pocket and was fine, everywhere.
There! Didn’t think I would have so much to say! I’m sure I’m forgetting loads but whatever, this was the good stuff!
To sum up the gear, in no particular order here is my base list for my Sept 26 trip: Of course, I will be opening and checking out waaaay more boxes!
Weed:
Green Place: everything! Especially LA Con, Blue Cheese, (Lemon Skunk and SSSH if the batches look as nice).
Dampkring: Mexican Haze,
Hunters: Amnesia Haze, (Burmese Kush if the buds are as nice), Cheese
Grey Area: Silver Bubble
Mellow Yellow/ Noon: Pot of Gold
(Greenhouse: SSH, if the batch is good, otherwise run outta here)
And just a quick note on SSH: IMO, it is excellent haze, however, to me it’s not the best tasting haze, really prefer Amnesia, Silver Bubble, Mexican, and Pot of Gold. And regarding the effect, although the SSSH from Green Place was really strong, the others were no match to Amnesia or the others hazes I just mentioned.
