U-Roy September 20>21

Post by U-Roy »

My fellow ACD'ers, I can't believe one week has passed already since I went back...Time goes so fast damn! (at least AFTER you come back  )

Allright, on this beautiful saturday, september 20, 11.35 am, my young sister and I are arriving to central station, as planned. The weather is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! SUNSHINE! We are going STRAIGHT to dampkring II, since it's a bit early to check in at our hotel (Dutch touch at greenhouse effect, by the way), I'm dreaming of mexican haze for one month.

First surprise, mex H is SOLD OUT  BUT, they just added hawaiian haze on the menu, my favorite weed!!!! Yeah baby! 2 grams please! I'm also asking (budtender is recognizing me, always a pleasure! :) ) if I can still try some 5€ samples and he says of course my friend, so I bought Mako haze, tasman haze, lavender, ocean 12, SS haze, and John Sinclair. My sister, who doesn't smoke a lot, asked for something not too strong, and tasty; he recommended the NYC diesel, she smelled it and liked it a lot, bought 2 grams and told me that would be enough for the week end, and she was right. We sat, mentionned that we are somking pure joints, then the Dampkring boss came out from nowhere, and told us that we can add tobacco if we want, but he must not see any cigarette, tobacco or roach on the table. Nice guy!

After checking in at the hotel, we went straight to the Van Gogh museum.
Amazing! You think you know Van Gogh, then realise you don't! Fantastic paintings. We spent 2 hours in there.

The rest of the day was spent walking, shopping, smoking.

On the next day, we sat down at greenhouse effect for a gorgeous breakfast , classic but nice. Our next seat neighbour suddenly lighted a huge joint of pure weed, sending us a big reminder:"hey, remember, you are in AMSTERDAM!" YESS!!!

We spent the day at Artis zoo, totally wasted, having a great time!
Here are some pics, the very few pics I was able to shoot on the weekend.

Purchases
Dampkring
NYC Diesel: always good, tasty, smooth, and not too strong.
Mako haze: GREAT weed. Can't really remember, but it has something special
Tasman haze: can't remember
Lavender: this weed has a special taste. VERY special, I like it a lot. Not too couch lock for an indica.
Ocean 12: nothing special
Super Silver haze: not as good as last time, still very good weed
John Sinclair: nothing special

Katsu
Moroccan Ice: fantastic!
Punta Roja (columbia): CRAP! Last time I bought their super Jamaica, was WAY better.
Mellow Yellow
Orange Haze: disappointed. Good weed, nothing special! Maybe I had a bad batch.
Super Polm: must have, as always. 5 grams for 22 euros, good light blond hash.
Otherside
Libanon: very disappointed. It has the libanon taste but very far, I think it's either very old, or contaminated with crap.
Greenhouse effect
Afgaan: good black hash very cheap! With the guest discount, I think I ended with almost 8 grams for 20 euros! WHOA!
K2: very very good weed, clear natural taste, smooth effect, it was a nice surprise.

There was some more, I can't remember. I might edit this later.

TOP OF THE TRIP:
-HAWAIIAN HAZE-DAMPKRING
-MORROCAN ICE-KATSU

Regrets of the trip:
-OMG! I forgot to buy the blueberry from Mellow Yellow! Crying!
-I forgot to bring my sister to the bluebird, with their crazy menu.
-Didn't eat at wok to wolk; we went to an indonesian restaurant, and it was not as good!
-Regret my lazyness for taking more pics, especially for the strains and menus
-Regret not to have tried the shibani polm and tbizla from Dampkring

Conclusion: this has to be fixed ASAP. That's why I JUST booked my next trip.

What was the Dutch Touch room like? I'm staying there in two weeks.

I like the sound of the black hash at GHE too.

Nice. Here are some pics of the room; it has changed since,it is organised differently now, and better. They changed the tv for a biggest flat screen combo with dvd player too, didn't use it though. Cool!

Thanks.
This afgaan is a great morning smoke, not too strong, taste is smooth and clean. Not the most powerful, but certainly one of the best quality/value hash in all Amsterdam. Was used to the "border" from Bluebird at 3.5G/12.50 euros, but this one is better.

Zoo, I was expecting to pay 17.70, but for some reasons I paid 13.00.
On the ticket was written something like "normaal tourist"

Loving your pics U-Roy. Looks like a nice camera to get shots as clear as that.
We're gonna do the museum trip this time. :D

Looking forward to trying any of the hazes on your list.

I like to know a couple of good budget options for bulking out the more expensive stuff, or like you said, for a light wake and bake smoke. I'll check it out.

That's pretty reasonable, i might check the zoo out myself.

Tres sympa ton trip!

Van Gogh museum truly is special, very interesting stuff, very tragic life. I'd recommend everyone to do it at least once, and WITH the head set. Changes the whole experience.

And i do confirm, the Hawaiian haze is very nice. Although i do prefer their amnesia: clear high vs trippy high (prefer the taste!).
