My 20th Smoke fest in the Dam

Hello Everyone,

I have touched down from Amsterdam literally hours ago. This was my 20th trip to the Dam but only my second report on ACD! I am writing this to give back to you guys.. the week before I went, I read (drooled) over every word and enjoyed every picture everyone else put up! So hopefully you will enjoy this just as much.

Evening 1:

Due to delays at the airport we only got into the hotel at 10pm on Saurday night... Still.. 3 hours coffee shop time left. My first visit has nearly always been to Home Grown Fantasy.. i love the shop/atmosphere and of course Bud! Unfortunately I have to confirm chat on acd that this coffee shop will be forced to close by march 09. The lease is up on the shop and the building owner doesnt wasnt a CS in his premises.... unfortunately the HGF crew cannot move the shop as licences are address specific. Anyway they are still trading at the moment so i bought:

HGF: Had to sit outside to smoke joints with tobacco.

Cheese 1.6g 20Euro:- Strong cheesy smell almost soapy! Big crystals on the inside. Light green almost yellowish colour. Very strong buzzy high.

Amazing Haze 0.8g 10Euro: Beautiful sweet Hazy smell. Sweet taste but a little harsh on the throat. Didnt seem as strong as the cheese.

We then decided to make the stoned walk up Spuistraat towards the Dampkrink 1.. I know its a bit commercial but i have always been impressed with the quality and variety of the weed avalible. However on this trip buds were scrappy and the quality just wasnt there however i still bought:

Dampkrink: Had to smoke joints with tobacco outside

John Sinclair:- 1g 11Euro. Sweet sweet smell, nice smoke medium high soft fruity flavor, a lovely everyday weed.

Shibani Rifman Hash:- 1g 14Euro. So sticky when even slightly warmed deep hashy taste..Shown to my friend who works at Stix he agreed nice but not worth 14Euro

Buddahs sister:- 1g 10Euro. I used to love this strain and would buy 3g at a time for phillie blunts. It has been off the menu for a few years now so i was excited to see it back. The smell was similar but it was SO wet it was rubbish to smoke and gave me a really bad throat..i threw the rest away.. yes really that bad.

At 1am we were asked to leave so we headed back to the hotel with our purchases and smoked it up until about 4 then collapsed.


Day 2:

Up, out and breakfasted by 10.30 we headed straight to the Bluebird for the infamous Blue Cheese. They have built a glass room where the famous old sofa used to be. this is great cause at last i can skin up how i want and still sit inside! however it can get very tobacoy in there.. coffee shops have changed man!!! and not really for the better.. still, im not complaining.

Bluebird: Special Tabacco smoking room

Blue cheese:- 1.2g 12.50Euro. Absolutely the sweetest berry smell, slightly cheesy. Doesnt 'look' much but they are well cured buds if a little small. Beautifully flavored smoke, good strong high. I could smoke every day all day.

We left Bluebird because some idiot was smoking cigarettes in the tobacco room... i mean COME ON stop smoking cigs in a coffee shop!!! Ok i smoke tabacco in my joint but i put in less the 1cm of cig in each! We walked down the road to Stix which is set in a beautiful tree lined quiet street behind Nieuw Markt Square.

Stix:- No tobacco joints inside you have to stand on the corner and take your chances with police.(so says the dealer) We opted for pure joints inside

Amnesia haze:- 1.26g 16.38Euros. Dense dense bud, well cured and covered in small crystals. The taste was awesome but neither the dealer or I could place what it was like. The only way i can describe this is as a 'Bright taste' with a beautiful clear high.

Nepalese temple ball:- 1g 12.50Euro Deep Dark Hash and very oily. Very smooth not particularly strong but a lovely taste.

After a long chat with the Dealer and some great smoke we headed back towards the centre for coffee sandwiches and cakes from a brilliant bakery just down the road from the grand Krapolsky towards the red light district.
Traditionally Dutch, seriously good food and coffee and really well priced compared to the dreaded Rennes on Damstraat which i spent 32 Euros in the night before!(6 cakes and 4 drinks). After the food I wanted to see what how GreenHouse's selection was so we went to GHC

GreenHouse:- Tobacco outside only but i could definately smell it in there.
Arjuns haze no 2: 1G 13Euro. Nice Haze but didnt really stand out when i smoked it later
Super silver haze: 1G 13Euro. an almost appley smell well cured and dusted with large crystals, definately the better of the 2 weeds i bought
King hussan extreme: 1g 10.2Euro. Boils when a flames held to it, lovely Marrocan spicyness to the smoke.

Barneys:- No tobacco in the shop however i rolled a normal spiff and smoked it and no one said anything!

G13 Haze: 1g 14Euro. Beautiful shiney crystals catching the light like mirrors. dense but big buds a lovely smoke and the taste though the vaporiser was amazing!
This was all i bought from Barneys as the rest of the weed was UTTER CRAP!!!!!smelling dank and rather like the rubbish at home. The Dealer laughed, agreed and said he was embassed! He said the growers are holding everything back for the cannabis cup!

Amnesia: No tobacco allowed in joints smoked in coffee shop
This shop has just reopened after a major makeover, nice new interior not really helped by the pretty ordinary weed. I asked for the best Indica they had the dealer showed me Train wreck it looked good especially compared to the rubbish he had in some of the other boxes.

Train wreck: 1g 13Euro. pretty rubbish very ordinary it really didnt stand out.
Polm: 1g 14Euro. rubbish to be honest this was SHIT no way as good as King Hussan Extreme for 10Euro/g and to be honest the KHE is not THAT special.

The dealer from amnesia was a real dick.. he remined me of the door man of the bar from the film 'Dusk till Dawn' you know 'i got red pussy yellow pussy bigg pussy small pussy' etc and i felt he thought we were just 'tourists' and I almost think he lied and gave us mediocre weed charging us for the big names.. on both acounts big mistake. i shall never spend money in there again.

We left munching on the space cakes we bought at 6.50E each and headed back to the hotel to roll some stupidly big spliffs! 3 blue slim rizzlas end to end and back flipped... a new record for me!

Day 3



Greenhouse
2g 25$ king hussan extreme

A quick walk down to Stix as it has given me the best bud of the trip in the Amnesia Haze

Stix:
Polm 1g 12.50Euro havent smoked it yet hehehe

Cheese 1g 13Euro awesome cheese, whitey yellow in colour, really strong slighty buzzy high. not as Soapy as at HGF so this took the CHEESE PRIZE for the trip
Amnesia haze: 1g 13Euro description as above.. had to have more!

After lunch we strolled on up the Leidse Straat toward the cinemas i wanted to get super wrecked and watch Tropic Thunder so we stopped in Dolphins.

Dolphins:

White dolphin: 1g 10Euro. a nice big crystally bud but little smell and it wasnt very dense.. a plesant high but not much to write home about.

Royal dolphin 1g 10Euro.. not tasted this one yet either

Very chilled smoking area downstairs 6-8 sofas and a flat screen playing movies (with subtitles) great shop if not the best weed... dont get me wrong it wasnt bad atall it just wasnt GREAT.

So a quick in and out to the dam, we had a great time it really is like my second home! The smoking ban has had some effect.. you can no longer just light up in your favorite shops you are asked to smoke outside and as the dealer in stix said "take your chances with the police" I know they wouldnt do anything but its still unchilled. I mean when a shops really busy it doesnt matter what your smoking but if its quiet or small you can really tell who's smoking what. After a raft of pure spliffs i could EASILY smell tobacco in mine or anyone elses joints...

Yeah im afraid i think they are holding stuff back a bit... (well Barneys are for sure). They still had the most beautiful G13 Haze but thats 1 good one out of 10. Dont get me wrong theres still great bud out there especially in shops that are not so bothered about winning the cup ie NOT greenhouse barneys and dampkrink... At Stix every tub was bustling with crystally well cured weed i was in heaven.

Think im going to take the attitude, that as there are so many shops that will overlook the tobacco thing, or have a seperate area for it inside...i just wont take my custom to the ones that dont. You dont need to warn me to steer clear of barney's, i dont rate their general quality or their prices.

Hows the weather out there, im hoping to catch a mild day during my stay to enjoy some shrooms in the park.

The Weather was much as it is in the Uk..
Sat night was about 9 degrees, pretty chilly walking around but i had buddah strength to get me through..
Sunday was a beautiful day around 18 degrees clear skys perfect for vondel park.. however monday it poured with rain nearly all day!

U roy.. yeah he looked like him but was NOT as cool as him in any way shape of form.

Hey guys! I COMPLETELY disagree! I mean, i don't feel ANY difference at all, but that you can't smoke cigarettes. I could smoke any kind of joint, in any (good) coffeeshop without a single problem: Hunters, Grey Area, Green Place, Dampkring (both), Katsu..... And I did smoke tons of hash which mainly consist of tobacco.

As long as there are no visible cigarette packs or cigarette butts, no problem. And don't ask them as they must say no to you. However look at the dealers roll. I've seen some put baccy in their J right after telling other customers not to put baccy.

Sorry bout this interference but texts like this can really stress someone else before their trip. Also, i guess it's not good to be saying like i am that you can smoke at most places no prob but whatever, needed to share this after reading.

I absolutely LOVE the Dam, (20 trips must say something) I just wanted to give an honest review of what I experienced… which was being told to smoke tobacco joints outside.. as I said, if a shops busy and smokey you really can smoke what you want.. But I found my self in shops where it was me my mate and the dealer… and then I felt it was a bit obvious cause I could smell it my self. Maybe I should have ignored the new rules more than I did.

Hey man! Sorry if i seemed a bit agressive (just back from the dam and feeling down!).

However, i've always been able to put a bit of baccy discretely when necessary, even when alone with the dealer (but i guess it wouldnt be cool for the shops if i mentioned with ones... read my reports and you won't have a hard time figuring it out!).

Just to say that for me (i'm also at 20+ trips) the ban hasn't changed anything at all.

And just to clear up, i'm not for blattently breaking the rules. But be discrete. ANd look around, the dealer is often doing the same although he will say not to.

Anyhow, will talk more about it in my report that should be up in a few hours or so.
