Sept 26 - Sept 30 SMOKE REPORT
Hey guys! New smoke report here!
And things do change quickly in Amsterdam!!
First of all, this is my second trip this month (probably getting close to 30 now) and I’ve decided to finally move to the dam. Just love that place too much. Got the opportunity of getting an (unpaid….) internship at KPMG starting January and I think I’ll enroll for a second masters degree (its just 1 year…) in 2009 there so as to have an easier time getting work there.
Now for what you guys care about! The smoke report!
It won’t be as long as the last one but I do have some new things to share with yall! And, won’t be a chronological report.
Where to start……….
Well, if you read my last report, the best shop of the trip was The Green Place. Mainly for there LA Con & Blueberry Cheese but also for the nice variety in their menu.
This trip, I’ve gotta place it behind the Grey Area, which, this time around had the best weed of the trip.
GREY AREA:
Last trip was really disappointed except for the silver bubble. The BBC wasn’t properly cured and La Con not as fresh as the Green Places’ stash.
However this time around it wasn’t the same stuff at all!!
First off, the Big Buddah Cheese: This time there batch was dryer than the last time. It was AMAZING! Met a guy from UK at Dampkring who smelled my joint and just went crazy bout the smell. Claimed he grows the original stain back at home and that it was nowhere as nice as GA’s. I remember this gear from my February trip. It was by far the No1 smoke, so when I got the wet batch beginning of the month, I was REALLY disappointed.
Note: If you get the BBC, leave it in the baggy overnight. The taste will be just soooooo much nicer, unbelievable.
LA CON!!!!!!!!! This was the strongest gear of the trip. If you’ve read my last trip report, you’ll see that I really loved the taste of the LA CON at the Green Place. This one was even nicer! I think it was just fresher and suspect it being the same supplier. It wasn’t on the GA menu yet but as John knows me now, he immediately offered it to me. Get it while it lasts!
Note: not the same LA Con they had in stock recently this month: now back at 15€/g and not 13€ anymore.
Silver Bubble is still as nice, however not my favourite sativa. I do prefer the more trippy effect of a nice Amnesia Haze.
Recon: great weed, especially for the price. You can really taste the LA Con in it. Stone is quite nice too (though incomparable with BBC and even less with the LA Con which wasn’t in yet when I bought the recon).
Also, overheard a very interesting discussion with John & another dude about import hash in amsterdam. If you read my previous report, then you'd know i 've already had a similar hash discussion with the dealer from the dampkring who gave me honest views bout importss, especially rifman.
Well, all John did was confirm all that was said at the dampkring. He & the other dude were saying that import hash in the dam is only commercial BS and thats why the GA didn't stock much hash, just the traditional variety people usually look to buy. In their opinion, local middle easteners sold the best foreign gear in amsterdam. Always nice to be reassured by the dealers that most import hash in c/s's are bs.
Next....
The Green Place: Honestly, I have nothing more to ad about this coffeeshop. Simply at the top with the Grey Area.
The LA Con was unbelievable though a bit less fresh than the grey area’s. Dealer claimed new batch to be coming this week. My little pinkie thinks it will be the exact same as grey area (they just got a new batch too which isn’t on the menu yet)….
Blueberry Cheese: If you like blueberries & cheese then this ones for you! Still the same as in my other report. However the buds were much bigger than last time! Put’s a shame to BlueBirds Blue Berry Cheese (even barney’s was nicer). This is a CAN’T MISS strain imo. Such a nice taste and strong stone.
Hunters:
Hunters gear was strangely old this time, wayyyy too dry. Very disappointing. Dealer claimed fresh batches were expected but taking more time than usual. He apologized and gave me a discount on my overall purchase (which made it reeeeeeeally cheap).
Had the Burmese Kush & Cheese. Both where really amazing last trip. Both were too dry. Not AT ALL as nice as last trip.
However dealer said the sick Amnesia Haze shall arrive by the end of this week, so if i were yall i'd check in for that.
So was pretty disappointed in Hunters gear this time. Too bad as it’s usually one of my top 3 weed shops…….. However props to the great dealer but for being understanding (I only bought 2 g’s).
But, as I’ve said. It all really depends on timing for all Amsterdam coffeeshops. None is really consistent imo except for the Dampkring. And I can’t imagine a trip to the dam without checking out what hunters has, even if I don’t purchase.
Note: by the way, never be ashamed to walk out without purchasing if you find the gear mediocre. Dealer will usually understand (hunters dealer would have and really apolozied sincerely, and gave me a great discount, especially as he knows me and considers me a “regular”).
Dampkring:
Always one of my favourites!
Hawaiian Haze is a really nice tasting haze. Clear head high, good all day smoke, maybe a bit too clear for me.
Amnesia Haze: Best amnesia of the trip. Great fluffy crystally bud and nice fruity taste. Could smoke it forever! Also, I prefer it’s high to that of the Hawaiian Haze: It’s really trippy, kinda tugs on your face!
No SUPER TBIZLA!!!!!!! Arrrrgh!! Was gonna cry! Gave rifman another try (shibani or noor….)… never again…. Bs touristy hash imo. Check out last report, dealer also qualifies it as commercial hash.
Waterworks 50€: Still one of the best ice hash’s out there. Very flowery taste and crazy high!
Note: if you go to the ex pink floyd Dampkring, ask one of the dealers (can’t say which to avoid trouble) for some “special” weed. One of the dealers whith whom I really get along with served me some craaaaaaaaaazy ass haze that wasn’t on the menu. Stuff had no name yet, he said was one of the grower’s “experiments”. Really expensive at 16€/g, but def the best haze of the trip.
Maybe a sneak peak at the CCup entry??
Katsu:
Morrocan Ice & Crystal Clear Ice: no need to say more than I did last trip. Both are really great hashs at great prices.
Northern Lights x Silver Pearl: really average gear…. Worst purchase of the trip…. Should have known when I saw the price but the dealer insisted it was amazing and like a great white widow. She even made one of the locals sitting in there tell me its all he smokes… Pffff…. Pissed at my self, my own fault….
Black Widow: Honestly, I was a bit disappointed after reading johny18269’s report claiming it was his fav (read it from the dam and immediately rushed over to Katsu). I’ve had it in February at prix d’ami and was really nice. The weed was really good, though not at all close to being one of my favs of the trip. If you want the heavy headed effect, then without a doubt, the La Con, at both GA & GP, BBC at GA, BC at GP are much, much heavier on the head. For me its uncomparable.
However, batches do change quickly in Amsterdam.
In my experience with Katsu, i've found there weed is much cheaper than most other places in my reports, but not as strong.
And please bare with me, this is just MY opinion!
MY/ Noon:
Honey Hash & King Hassan: both grezat value hash’s. Dealer gave me 3g’s of honey hash for 25€! Sick!
Already gave my thoughts about these hash’s in my other report so won’t repeat myself. Great values, great stuff. Both much nicer that the 14€ rifman hash's (which are all bs imo).
Pot Of Gold: again, mentioned it last report. Truly a great strain. Really love the effect & taste. Favorite weed outside of the centrum.
Blueberry Haze: didn’t look too nice so didn’t bother, had it in February, was great though.
Barney’s:
Thought I’d try it out again (friend with me really wanted to go as he hadn’t been in the dam for a couple years and was his fav). I did drop in last trip after quite an absence from there to try their ice hashs again, which were expensive but nice. Originally planned on just getting import hash, but ended up also buying some weed:
Triple X: as a major morrocan hash fan, I had to see why this hash costs 30€ a gram. I’m still trying to understand……….
Caramella Cream: As there was no Super Tbizla at Dampkring, caramello is usually the closest thing to it and the best caramello I had had in the dam was barneys. Really nice hash, though not as nice as the Super Tbizla and 7€ more expensive! Crazy!
Amnesia haze; really looked & smelled beautiful. Had to get a gram as it’s always one of my faves. Was nice but not as strong in effect as dampkrings. Def not worth the 13€/g but that’s what most shops charche for amnesia.
Blueberry Cheese: As I was tokin the one from GP, and had tried on several occasions the one from Blue Bird, I wanted to compare. And the buds were beautiful, also, nicer than the batch at Bluebird. However not as enjoyable as Green Places batch.
However, their gear was quite overpriced. As I’ve mentioned before, I had stopped going to this shop. I now remember why. However, I wouldn’t have bought 2 weeds if they didn’t look and smell lovely. If you love chees like I do, then you’d want and try their Blue Berry Cheese just to compare with the others.
Bushdoctor:
My first time in this shop. After hearing so much crap bout this place, I never thought I’d ever go in, but after hearing much of the Aslama Ice at 22€/g, I decided to give it a try.
Aslama: will NEVER rebuy. Too expensive for what it’s worth. Seemed like just a stronger rifman at 22€/g……….. Maybe if you’ve never had ice hash this could be a could step in between, but still…. Not really worth the price, I’d by faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar rather add 3€ and get a gram of their Butter Hash. You might even make as many J’s as with the Aslama with half the dose.
Butter Hash 50€/g: Holy Mother of God! Boy, I didn’t see this one coming! As I love ice hash and was for the first time in this shop, I had to have a peak at their top priced isolator.
Man this looked just like earwax! Never ever saw such looking hash in the dam (only in montreal).
So I got a half g. Strongest ice I’ve ever had in the dam. Was stronger than the Violator Isolator, stronger than the 50€ waterworks, and much stronger than the Crystal Clear at Katsu.
Later that day I went back for 2 more grams. Already looking forward to smoking more of this next trip!!!!
Hmmmm….. I’m sure I’m forgetting more stuff………
Ah well!! That’ll do!
So, to sum up:
Blueberry cheese at Green Place still nicer than Barney's and Blue Bird's.
BBC @ GA for the best overall Cheese strain (but leave some in the baggy overnight, will be even better unless the stash is dryer).
LA Con @ GA for best all around weed.
Amnesia @ Dampkring for best haze. If you’re more of a clear high person, then get their Hawaiian Haze. Silver Bubble is really nice too.
Hash: Katsu for Morrocan Ice & Noon/ MY for Honey hash. But neither are extraordinary. To be honest I’d say Caramella Cream & Triple X from barneys are better hash’s, and cannot not recommend tasting them... but damn were they toooooo overpriced! This trip was disappointing for morrocan hash imo.
Butter Hash @ Bushdoctor for waaay the best isolator out there!
Beware:
- if you like very strong weeds then Katsu ain’t the place to get it…. Unless I was very unlucky. But the shop itself is one of my favs as the vibe is great, and their hash really good for the price.
- Hunters gear wasn’t at their usual level. Drop by though to check for new stash.
- Barneys’: I guess they really are going mad… too bad… gear was decent but nothing to rebuy. No wonder why I had ignored this shop for over 2 whole years though it used to me my fav…
And done!
Oh yeah, no, not done! Other nice gear I didn’t mention but bought:
lemon skunk & trainwreck @ GP, both were sampled last trip too, both still great.
Nepal Temple Balls from STIX: always get a 20€ bag as it’s one of my favourite wake n bakes. However, after smoking some morrocan hash or some weed, I can’t go back to the NTB as I won’t feel a thing…
Mako Haze @ Dampkring: quite an enjoyable strain though the batch did seem to lack potential. I’m pretty sure that the right batch make for a top smoke.
And NYC: got a gram at Dampkring for old times sake! Always delicious imo!
Arf, went into another few shops but don't really remember which.... was letting my friend rekindle with his amsterdam past! Rockerij was one of them.... I didn't find anything that made my mouth water (just got out of grey area when we went in here) but toked a bit on the couple strains my friend got and i must say they were quite nice. Will try and get him to right me down some comments and remind me what gear he bought!
He also got some decent stuff at De Kuil. But nothing too special in his opinion.
Oh yeah, and he really didn't like the weed he bought at Green House Effect (was their most expensive stuff). I smelled his baggy and not much came out of it.....
And...... unfortunately I now think this report over….! Didn’t receive the souvenirs yet (barely got home!) to keep on the testing “in condition” though; so if I notice anything else, I’ll let you know.
Can't wait to go back (November!!!)!

Nice1 for the report.
Just 2 questions.
Butter hash at Bushdoctor is this Ice Hash? Thought it was BHO mixed to let air pass into it to create the wax texture?
Was the Bushdocs Budtender okay?
Shocked you dont rate the weed at katsu but then like you said batches change regular. Will have to pop in and give them all a try at the end of the month as the BW and HH were some of the strongest weeds i had last 2 trips.
Excellent report though which i will deffo review b4 my next trip

Thanks!! Yeah, was really sorry bout Katsu, but will check out there weed again as i always go for the hash anyways! Was my fault too as i asked for the weeds without even looking at it first which i usually never do.... It's just that she (i don't know the dealers name!!!) recommended the NL x SP, so thought i'd trust her on it, and i had just read a fresh post regarding the BW, so i figured they were safe bets....
They really werent bad, especially the BW which was a nice weed. Just that the current batches weren't up to par with the gear from GA and GP on this trip. And to be honest, with the crazy LA Con, BBC, & Blueberry Cheese around town, it's really tough to find better gear! Good for us i guess!

Really a great experience, and really a big surprise for me. For the past 10 years i've been hearing crap about them, the dealer, the underweighing...., untill bout recently, lots of positive reports have been going around on their Aslama hash. And reading them just got me too cuious!
The dealer was a real chill guy from Botswana, really friendly. Showed me all the gear i wanted + more.
I honestly have no idea how they made that hash. It is of dutch origin though. Anyway, that stuff was just sooo strong! Really stopped time on me... didn't know where i was anymore! Oh yeah, it was heaven!!!!
It was the strongest ice i've smoked since the gear Barneys had in 2004 (their barney rubble was then made from amnesia haze and was the sickest stuff ever, even better than this Butter Hash).
"I'm not lost i am where i'm standing...."
Cheers for that Master Oogway
Honestly say i gave up on budtender reccomendations as it seems they are not always the best choice IMO.
Its good to hear the Bushdoctor sorting itself out. Will give them a visit on my next trip and give this butter a rip me thinks
.
