110 a double room is not what I call "cheap". You can find the same accomodation for 55/75 a night if you search a bit further. But a nice appartment for 130/160 a night is great.
Peace

As far as I know, the new laws include also a prohibition of smoking in ALL hotels. At least I experienced, that hotels where once you were able to smoke, do not allow it anymore.
It would be nice, if someone knows if there are some exceptions.

Otherwise if you have the possibility always rent a flat.

I've just booked a double atthe Hemp Hotel for 75euro a night. The lady laughed at me when I asked if smoking in the room was allowed!!! They do a cracking hemp breakfast to go with your morning toot! Single rooms are 60euros.

We stayed in the hotel Di ann on Raadhuisstraat and they had no problem with me smoking weed in the room but the first room they gave us had a broken window so i asked for a room with a balcony and the girl said no bother and sorted us out straight away

I really like the Di-Ann - the staff there are friendly and the girl is a real sweetie.

I had a single with a balcony overlooking the Mac Centre on Raadhuisstraat on the 4th floor, and all I did was pull the balcony door closed behind me so the smoke didn't go into the room and toked up quite happily... The best part was - even with the heaviest of rain coming down, there was a perfect shelter on that balcony...

My friends had a room below me with just a regular window, and they just opened the window up wide, stood there and carried on regardless. So long as you're not over the top with it, like creating a massive cloud that rolls down the hotel corridor like mustard gas, then you should be ok.

Discretion is the word.

If the hotel makes it clear that it is not tolerated under any circumstances, then either step outside for a toke, or face the consequences if they find out.

Smoking isn't banned in all hotels, it's up to the individual hotel, I wouldn't book a room unless they allowed smoking and I certainly wouldn't smoke in one if they said no smoking of any kind - its called respect.

Since the July 1 tobacco ban, many hotels have made it clear that there is no smoking allowed anywhere in the hotel. Other hotels have indicated that tobacco smoking is allowed in some of their rooms (one must ask for a "smoking room"), but not weed or other drugs.

Best to ask or at least reserve a "smoking room," or have a balcony, if you don't know for sure that the management is "cool."
