But they probably would care if a under 18 was in the coffeeshop, got busted by an inspector, which resulted in the coffeeshop being closed down. Even its not closed down for good.

Of course they'd care if that happened but the point I was making is you stated about following the rules but you'll happily break them to smoke tobacco in the coffeeshops that will turn a blind eye.
Back to the original poster, they said they weren't going to cancel their trip no matter what which is why I suggested on page 1 that they could try asking people to get them their weed, yes it's risky but if it was me in that position thats what I'd do and I imagine that the majority of us on this forum would do exactly the same thing although I know most will deny it.

Well thats the point im making. Instead of being selfish consider the feelings of the owners of coffeeshop whos buisness you are possibly going to ruin. And the feelings of other stoners who may really like the coffeeshop your running the risk of shutting down.

which ive already answered
the owners of a business right to decide if the buisness is going to go against the law ( i.e Enron.) As they are the ones who will suffer the consequences. When people try to blag the laws of the coffeeshops then it becomes a problem in my view as the ones trying to blag it will not suffer the consequences but the owners will, and in this case the owner was not aware that the consequences will be placed on
or have you

But to claify i dont break the rules unless given permission by the budtender as it is then their decision and they are then they are aware of risk being taken. As i explained above. So my justification is i stick by the rules set by the person who is standing to lose the most by me breaking the laws. Of course this may not be apporiate in every case of law breaking but in this case i belive it to be the most reponsible and sensible approach.

I really dont see any justifacation in your excuse seeing that it's not the budtender/coffeeshop rules you are breaking.
Again the original poster said they wanted to find a way of smoking weed in Amsterdam without entering the coffeeshops which as far as I'm aware isn't breaking any of the said rules, do you think that the under 18's in Holland dont a: try and enter coffeeshops or failing that b: get someone old enough to score for them?

Tbh guys i would prefer seing them going to Dam and getting safely stoned than going on a booze trip and risking something more seroius happening than getting a fine
And as for them getting sold bud in a C/S isn't that up to the tender at the time i mean if he/she is willing to risk it then they deserve to be closed down imho

So dont see the idea of a owner of a buisness having a say in the rules which his or her buisness sticks by as being a good justification for sticking to rules that the owner sets?
The owner has a right to say what happens in his or her buisness, its that simple. They own it therefore they decide which, if any, rules they are going to stick by. And i respect the position of the owner to ask and stick by their interpretation of the laws, as they own the place and are
facing the consequences if caught. Surely that is justification? And also a sensible and logical way to approach it.
By your logic your saying that the people who started to try and set up coffeeshops here in the U.K were wrong or at least you
dont see any justifacation .
Because they were sticking by
their own rules not the rules of the U.K, which is that allowing a premises you own to used for smoking cannabis is wrong.
Wheres the difference between that and the smoking ban rules in Holland? The goverment said its wrong and against the law to smoke tobacco in public buildings but the owners of the buildings dont agree with that and allow the customers to do it. The owners have that right as did the owners of the 'coffeeshop' in the UK had the right to allow their place for cannabis even it was against the law of the land
because they knew of the infaction of the law and were prepared to take the consequences Which is my justifaction for sticking by the owners laws and smoking tobacco if the owner allows it.
Fair enough but was you not challenging my jusitifcation when you said....
I really dont see any justifacation in your excuse seeing that it's not the budtender/coffeeshop rules you are breaking.
So thats not really aimed at the original poster and is more aimed at me, so i was simply responding to your accusation.

If a law is in place then everyone should have to follow it, I dont see why a business should be any differant from Joe Bloggs on the street.
I break laws but I also know that if caught it's me who will receive the punishment, at the moment it's only the person who gets caught smoking tobacco who gets the fine, if/when that law changes to the owners of the coffeeshops getting fined I can almost guarentee that they'll be a lot stricter than they are at the moment and if/when the government decide to bring it in as a reason to close a coffeeshop they will be as strict on no tobacco smoking as they are with under 18's and anything else they can get closed down for.
You have to remember that cannabis smoking/selling is only tolerated and the Dutch government are doing everything in their power to shut coffeeshops down, I'm happy to follow each and every rule they have in place if it keeps the coffeeshops open.
