Terrific report!

Great to hear about GHE being so hospitable and down right handy as regards the discounts. Staying there in a month or so. They've been ferociously helpful with dates and accomodating us in an apartment for one night so it seems customer service is what they're all about. Interesting to hear about their own smokes being of a decent quality too :)

Green Place was added to my list of places to go as it stands great to hear good things about that and Home Grown Fantasy :)

Excellent report! SPLENDID in fact!

Your locations remind me quite a bit of my trip with the wife back in August - the GHEffect, Green Area and favorite broodje shop. Your pic of Hill Street on the Markt left a tear drop in my eye...

Thanks again for the report & pics.

Did you mean Grey Area? or Green Place? or? It does sound like a good name for a shop though.

Great write up, thanks for taking the time to do this. It really helps a first timer like me to get a feel of Amsterdam and reccomendations on different types of weed are always good.

Just a few questions for you, does GHE=Green House Effect?

Also I cant find Green Place on the large map, it is on the seperate central section of the map but not on the bigger version. Am I just being blind or is it nor there?

yes, GHE = greenhouse effect.

No, its not on the map, I couldnt find it before we went either, however its really easy to find. Its at nieuwmarkt, but because it can be a bit confusing at first navigating through the Red light district Ill give you the easy way. If you are at dam square at the top of the damrak, go down damstraat towards Greenhouse centrum. You go over two canals, and at the third turn left. The Green Place is on that street on the left, quite a way down near the market and other coffeeshops like Hill st Blues, jolly joker etc, that are also not on the map for some reason. Its a lovely area and its well worth finding.

Glad to help man! people like hasjdreamer ^^ and others who wrote reports really helped me, so Im glad this has helped someone else planning a trip. Just make sure you do the same when u get back!

That my friend, would be because I took a lot of inspiration from your trip report! :D The places you mentioned really sounded like my kind of places, and i endeavoured to go to some of them, so thanks again for your report!

Outside Hill st blues at Nieuwmarkt has definately become my favourite chilling place, so big thanks for that, glad you liked the pic :) sorry for any upset it caused

i didnt realize the broodje shop was in your report though! I thought that was our find man, did you mention it?

We are staying at a GHE apartment this time, their newest one the Delft, which is in the Markt and overlooks waag castle so we couldnt be in a better spot. I just hope that the quality of produce at the Green Place is still as good.

Out of interest, which of the other shops around the Markt would you say had the best bud/drinks/service? we didnt even check rock it, jolly or any others as we didnt need any more produce.

We will try and find that thai place you mentioned this time too.

Thanks for the kind words mate, if you enjoyed mine half as much as I enjoyed yours, then Im a happy camper.

thanks chelsea and diddy!

yes the GHE was top top notch with regards to service. From the greeting we got on arrival down to the night porter who saw us off in the early morning of the day we left, we couldnt fault them at all.

im sure youll have a great time.
