Boris Trip Report

We're back safe and sound after our 8 day day trip to the Dam, just thought I'd post a quick update on where we stayed and what we did.

Booked an apartment just off Leidseplein through CityMundo.com, nice setup and good location. I'd highly recommend booking an apartment instead of a hotel, just gives you a bit more freedom and makes you feel like a proper Amsterdam resident.

Rockerij – Bought 1g of the Cheese, nice and tasty. They don't mind if you mix baccy in your spliff so long as you keep it discrete. Good music, good atmosphere.

Dolphins – Bought 1g of the White Dolphin, very disappointed with this smoke. However, they do have a dedicated baccy smoking area. Music was a bit hit and miss, only stayed for 1 spliff.

Rookies – Bought 1g of the Rookies own power plant variant and 1g of hash (can't remember name), the weed was disappointingly mild and no flavour, the hash wasn't too bad. They also have a dedicated baccy smoking area, staff are friendly enough.

Noon – Went here after a recommendation from someone on this forum, I'm glad I did now. Bought 1g of Blueberry and 1g of Honey hash both of which were spot on and very reasonable prices. I'd recommend a visit here to anyone after some quality smoke and decent prices. Didn't stay for a smoke here as it seemed more like a locals coffee shop + I was really battered at this stage and just wanted to get back to the apartment.

Abraxas – Nice friendly Budtender, had good chat about the smoking ban and how it's effected business, so long as you are discrete he don't mind you mixing baccy in with your spliff either. Bought 1g of Silver haze 1g of Northern lights and 1g of Elephant. Overall pretty impressed by the quality of the weed they have on offer, especially the Elephant which is a nice tasty Indica that has a good couch lock effect.

I managed to sneak a few souvenir samples past HM customs on the way back, unfortunately all smoked this weekend.

In summary, a good visit, counting the days until we can afford to go again.

Hey TG, if you look at the city Mundo website you can select apartments that allow smoking. I guess we were quite lucky as the host of our apartment was a really chilled out guy who said you can smoke what you like and even recommended a couple of good local coffee shops. I can't say whether you would get the same response from the other apartment hosts, but in general I think if it's listed as a smoking apartment then I guess you can smoke until you pass out
As for the price, we stayed for 8 nights and I think we payed about 800 euros, it's sounds like a lot but in my opinion well worth saving up your pennies for, I'll definitely do Amsterdam like this again.
Good luck
Boris

We got an apartment at City Mundo that was no smoking. The owner didn't seem like she was down with weed, but there was a nice terrace for smoking. You can indeed select smoking when you do a search. We needed one with a full kitchen for cooking our meals, so that was priority.
